Description

@TheRealAshik

Feature Request: TizenTube Cobalt for Google TV

Summary

As a user of TizenTube Cobalt (on Google TV), I’d love a more seamless, ad-free, and highly customizable YouTube experience on large screens. Below are the top requested enhancements.

Proposed Features

  1. Auto-Repeat
Let viewers loop a video or playlist indefinitely—perfect for music or ambient playlists when winding down or falling asleep.

  2. Icon & App Name Customization

    • Allow users to spoof a “Premium” badge on the launcher icon.
    • Enable custom app name strings (e.g., “YouTube Premium”) for advanced themers.
  3. Return YouTube™ Dislike Count
Surface the original dislike count to help users gauge video quality at a glance.

  4. Disable Shorts
Provide a toggle to fully hide YouTube Shorts sections and recommendations.

  5. Hide Watermarks & Overlays
Remove creator watermarks, full-screen panels, and any overlay graphics for a clean viewing canvas.

  6. Use grey colour in Splash screen I told you this before also

  7. Add Premium Bitrate support By doing this user can get highspeed, high-quality videos without compression.

Branding & Naming Updates

Please apply the following branding changes before delving into feature work:

YouTube Dark Circle Icon YouTube Full-Color Icon

Use Official YouTube Logo
Swap out any placeholder icons for the real YouTube logo. If that’s not technically or legally feasible, embed one of the high-res variants shown above.

  • App Name
Refer to the app by its proper name—YouTube—or choose an equally recognizable name for the Google TV build (e.g., “YouTube TV” or “YouTube Premium TV”).

Thank you for considering these updates—looking forward to your feedback on feasibility and timelines!
