Release list
PGGB 9.1.42
The links on this page download exactly PGGB 9.1.42. The newest version is always on the downloads page.
PGGB app
Windows
- Installer: PGGB-Windows-Setup.exe
Mac
- Apple Silicon: PGGB-Mac-Apple-Silicon.pkg
- Intel: PGGB-Mac-Intel.pkg (please read the note below first)
Before you download for Intel Mac
Live and Offline processing are slower on Intel Macs than on Apple Silicon. Try PGGB on your computer first to see whether it meets your needs.
Live outputs PCM only. DSD files can still play in Bypass or be converted to PCM. Offline can still create DSD files.
If you have an Apple Silicon Mac, choose the Apple Silicon installer. The Intel version runs through Rosetta and keeps the same performance and Live output limitations.
Try PGGB free for 30 days, with no credit card needed. Free Lite remains available afterwards.
Not sure which Mac you have? Open the Apple menu and choose About This Mac. "Chip: Apple M1" (or M2, M3 and so on) means Apple Silicon; "Processor: ... Intel" means Intel.
PGGB-Audio-Link (PAL) endpoint
Install the endpoint on the computer connected to your DAC. Choose its operating system and processor below.
Windows
- Installer: PGGB-Audio-Link-Windows-Setup.exe
- Command-line endpoint with starter (.zip): PGGB-Audio-Link-Windows-Portable.zip. Extract both files into one folder, then open
Start-PGGB-Audio-Link.bat. - Command-line endpoint only (.exe, optional): PGGB-Audio-Link-Windows-Portable.exe. Use this if you manage startup and firewall access yourself.
Mac
- Apple Silicon and Intel (.pkg): PGGB-Audio-Link-Mac.pkg
Debian, Ubuntu and Raspberry Pi OS
- Intel / AMD 64-bit (.deb): pggb-audio-link_amd64.deb
- ARM64 (.deb): pggb-audio-link_arm64.deb
Fedora and other RPM systems
- Intel / AMD 64-bit (.rpm): pggb-audio-link.x86_64.rpm
- ARM64 (.rpm): pggb-audio-link.aarch64.rpm
Arch Linux
- Intel / AMD 64-bit (.pkg.tar.zst): pggb-audio-link-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst
- ARM64 (.pkg.tar.zst): pggb-audio-link-aarch64.pkg.tar.zst
PAL OS (Raspberry Pi)
A ready-made system with PGGB-Audio-Link (PAL) built in. Write the image to a microSD card with Raspberry Pi Imager. The optional checksum file lets you check that the download is intact.
- Raspberry Pi 5: pal-os-rpi5.img.xz (checksum: pal-os-rpi5-sha256.txt)
- Raspberry Pi 4: pal-os-rpi4.img.xz (checksum: pal-os-rpi4-sha256.txt)
Other downloads
Mac disk images (.dmg)
The same Mac app as a disk image: drag the apps into Applications, then install the optional PGGB Bridge driver by hand from the disk image. The .pkg installers above do all of this in one guided install.
- Apple Silicon: PGGB-Mac-Apple-Silicon.dmg
- Intel: PGGB-Mac-Intel.dmg (the Intel Mac note above applies)
Removing PGGB from a Mac
- PGGB-Mac-Uninstall.pkg removes PGGB, PGGB Bridge, the PAL endpoint and Direct Ethernet for PGGB-Audio-Link from an Apple silicon or Intel Mac. Your settings, your license and your music stay.
About the "Source code" files
GitHub adds "Source code (zip)" and "Source code (tar.gz)" to every release by itself, and they cannot be removed. They hold only the text of these download pages, not PGGB. Please use the files listed above.
PGGB 9.1.42 open-source sources
PGGB uses five libraries under the GNU Lesser General Public License, version 2.1. This release holds their exact source code for every build of PGGB 9.1.42 (Windows, Intel Macs and Apple silicon Macs), the changes we made to two of them, and how each was built.
| Library | Windows | Intel Macs | Apple silicon Macs | Our changes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| libsndfile | 1.2.2 | 1.2.2 | 1.2.2 | high sample rates and 32-bit FLAC (a patch) |
| TagLib | 2.0.2 | 2.0.2 | 2.1.1 | none |
| FFmpeg | 6.1.1 | 7.1.5 | development snapshot N-122468-gbb29b51876 | none (built without any GPL parts) |
| GNU libmicrohttpd | 1.0.1 | 1.0.1 | 1.0.1 | none |
| libupnpp | commit 8761d82 | commit 8761d82 | commit 8761d82 | UPnP fixes (a patch) |
The upstream sources are unchanged; our changes are the two .patch files; BUILD-NOTES.txt says how each library was built; SHA256SUMS.txt lists every file's checksum. libupnpp is linked into PGGB statically: the files needed to relink PGGB with a modified libupnpp are available on request through the support contact on remastero.com. The license text and PGGB 9.1.42's third-party notices are included.
