Release list
Untitled Auto Title 1.0.2
Untitled Auto Title 1.0.2
Resolves the remaining compatibility and release recommendations from the Community directory review.
- Declares Obsidian 1.13.0 as the minimum version, matching the searchable settings APIs in use.
- Removes the deprecated imperative display fallback and uses declarative settings throughout.
- Processes notes when they are created, edited, or opened, with only the active note checked on startup. Full-vault enumeration and the bulk title command are removed.
- Checks only candidate filenames for collisions using the vault adapter; asynchronous checks retain the existing stale-result and overwrite guards.
- Publishes only main.js, manifest.json, and styles.css as release assets.
- GitHub Actions builds these assets and creates cryptographic build-provenance attestations before publication.
Local heading/phrase mode continues to work offline without an API key. Existing plugin settings are retained when updating.
Untitled Auto Title 1.0.1
Untitled Auto Title 1.0.1
Addresses the code findings in the Obsidian Community directory review.
- Uses native settings headings instead of direct HTML heading elements.
- Adds declarative, searchable settings for Obsidian 1.13+, with a compatibility settings page for 1.12.
- Uses window-scoped timers for popout compatibility.
- Narrows YAML properties and Groq response values before accessing them.
- Removes shell execution and Windows registry subprocesses from the plugin.
- Sanitizes filename control characters without a control-character regular expression or unnecessary bracket escaping.
Groq keys are read from Obsidian's inherited environment. If a desktop launcher has an older environment, launch Obsidian from a terminal where GROQ_API_KEY is available. The key is never saved in the vault.
Select Local heading or phrase (no key) in the plugin settings for offline titles without an API key.
Untitled Auto Title 1.0.0
Untitled Auto Title 1.0.0
Automatically generate content-based filenames for untitled Obsidian Markdown notes using Groq.
- Reads the API key from
GROQ_API_KEYat runtime; never saves the key to the vault. - Generates a concise title after 10 seconds of idle time with at least 30 letters or digits.
- Uses
openai/gpt-oss-20bon Groq by default; model and limits are configurable. - Preserves chosen titles, dated notes, excluded folders, and explicit opt-outs.
- Handles duplicate and Windows-reserved filenames.
- Discards results if the note was edited, renamed, deleted, or the plugin was unloaded.
- Includes manual title commands, a sample connection test, and session undo.
- Uses Obsidian's FileManager for link updates.
- Offers an explicit offline heading/phrase mode.
Install
Download and extract untitled-auto-title-1.0.0.zip. Run its Windows Install.ps1 with your vault path, or copy the untitled-auto-title folder into your vault's .obsidian/plugins directory and enable it. Restart Obsidian.
Release state
Production build completed. TypeScript checking and 23 safety tests passed before the user switched to build-once-publish. The release is installed in the target vault and enabled in its plugin configuration.
Native Obsidian/Groq acceptance is left to the user. Earlier direct requests to Groq returned HTTP 403 with a network-access error; the native Obsidian transport has not been tested. A failed Groq request leaves the note untitled and displays the error.
