The Gradle manager’s long-form dependency matcher interprets well-known Android method calls as dependency notation.

  defaultConfig {
    resValue("string", "google_maps_key", "AIzaSyExampleGoogleMapsApiKey123")
    buildConfigField("int", "MAX_RETRIES", "3")
  }
}

This will extract both:

[
  {
    "currentValue": "AIzaSyExampleGoogleMapsApiKey123",
    "depName": "string:google_maps_key"
  },
]

and

[
  {
    "currentValue": "3",
    "depName": "int:MAX_RETRIES"
  },
]

and will use them to look up dependencies like this

DEBUG: GET [maven-url]/string/google_maps_key/maven-metadata.xml [...]
