| Original Japanese ISO | ACE3-English-0.9.3-movie.xdelta |
| Published English-prologue v0.9.0 ISO | ACE3-English-0.9.0-to-0.9.3-movie.xdelta |
Original Japanese disc:
xdelta3 -d -s "Another Century's Episode 3 - The Final (Japan).iso" ACE3-English-0.9.3-movie.xdelta "ACE3 English 0.9.3.iso"
Upgrade from v0.9.0:
xdelta3 -d -s "ACE3 English 0.9.0.iso" ACE3-English-0.9.0-to-0.9.3-movie.xdelta "ACE3 English 0.9.3.iso"
Use your actual filenames. Both patches produce the same output. Earlier published v0.1.35, v0.1.42, v0.1.47 and v0.1.65 English-prologue images can upgrade through the existing intermediate patches using Retro Trans. For manual patching, use the original disc or the exact published v0.9.0 image. Do not disable source checks on a checksum mismatch.
Original Japanese ISO: 4,447,076,352 bytes; SHA-256 5264079d36d953f464b166052e1ddea9be22a84c30a9333da24b8e1471311705.
Release output: 4,455,596,032 bytes; SHA-256 e8a5173150f3c44017adb652aee4798696d3e6ab1ebf86d4bc611b800d53b02b.
Exact source and patch identities are in BUILD-MANIFEST.json. VALIDATION.json records patch round trips, and SHA256SUMS.txt covers download integrity. Retro Trans supports unpacking DVD CHD images before patching; other patchers require the unpacked ISO.
What changed since v0.9.0
- Two missing movies subtitled. Integrates the prepared English subtitles for the Axis sequence (48 cues) and the resonance / two-Earths sequence (11 cues). Retains the reviewed preview layout and timing, original audio, frame counts and frame rates.
- Enemy names readable. Completes the separate lock-on HUD font in all eight gameplay copies. Fixes names such as Monsuno type10, which appeared as question marks because most English letters were missing from that font.
- Deployment captions restored. Widens the first column for Combo Attack and Damage, moving the separators and values right so the captions fit.
- Earlier translations retained. Includes the English prologue, compact opening romaji/English lyrics, simultaneous credits dialogue/song captions, ending subtitle holds, ending disclaimer and previous text and layout fixes.
The changelog has further details. The release image matches all 133 game files from local build 0.9.3. Full and upgrade patches are decoded and verified against the complete release output.
Release status
This exact release still needs full in-game playtesting. Both new movie remuxes pass decoding checks and preserve every non-video packet, including the original audio. The HUD font preserves all 242 original glyphs and supports printable English characters. Disc checks verify the intended changes; they do not certify emulator or console playback.
Fresh-boot checks are still needed for the two new movies, the enemy-name font and Deployment captions. Earlier credits testing observed all 98 caption cues in a disposable saved-state test; fresh-disc loading of the enlarged ending resources and later timing changes remain unverified. Some lyric readings and one short Sara speaker label in the two-Earths movie remain uncertain. Other image-based labels and unclassified mission variants remain outside confirmed coverage.
A Chapter 1 loading-screen hang has been reported on ARMSX2. It has not been reproduced, and whether it also occurs with the original Japanese game is not yet known.
Boot the patched ISO fresh and load a normal memory-card save. Save states made during affected scenes retain old executable data, resources, fonts and subtitle timings.
What's included
English menus and help, Encyclopedia entries, unit and pilot names, supported mission/story/in-mission dialogue, battle shouts, meeting captions, abilities, support details, command lists and branching Situation Reports. Includes English subtitles for the prologue and both late-game dialogue movies, bilingual opening lyrics, credits dialogue/song captions and the ending disclaimer. A full patch and matching v0.9.0 upgrade are provided.
How it was translated
This is a machine translation, produced with large language models and then reviewed and edited using scene context and a researched glossary. Movie and audio-only ending work used local Whisper transcription and meaning review; the opening also uses lyrics supplied by the user. Translation sources retain review notes and uncertainties. Further proofreading and playtesting are welcome.

What changed since v0.1.65
- New version number: 0.9.0. Packages the latest fixes from local builds 0.1.66–0.1.68 under the requested release version.
- Empty ally slots translated. Replaces the remaining Japanese “none” placeholder with None in all four shared copies used by the deployment confirmation.
- Briefing alert translated. Replaces the image-based alert with BATTLE STATIONS in all three briefing copies. The English text fits between the existing animated brackets.
- Parameters gauge spacing repaired. Moves all 42 affected fill layers directly through their geometry so the placement does not depend on widget origins that are reset in-game. Covers Deployment, Unit Upgrades and the two recruitment layouts; preserves labels and value bindings.
- Previous translation and subtitles retained. Keeps English prologue subtitles, compact opening romaji/English lyrics inside the CG, simultaneous credits dialogue/song captions, the longer subtitle holds, and earlier menu, dialogue and layout fixes.
The changelog has further details. All 133 game files match local build 0.1.68. Full and upgrade patches are decoded and verified against the complete release output, with canonical Retro Trans metadata and checksums supplied below.
Release status
This exact release still needs full in-game playtesting. The latest fixes passed whole-disc byte checks and full/upgrade patch round trips. The new briefing banner animation and Parameters gauge rendering still need fresh in-game confirmation. Earlier movie decoding checks remain applicable because those movie files are unchanged. The native credits test observed all 98 caption cues and checked simultaneous lyrics/dialogue plus logo clearance in a disposable saved-state test. Fresh-disc loading of the enlarged ending resources, the later 0.5-second hold revision and final opening playback have not been verified in the emulator. Some lyric pronunciation/timing uncertainties remain documented in the translation sources.
The two late-game CG movies still have their original Japanese subtitles; their English MP4 previews are not integrated in this release. Some other image-based labels and unclassified mission variants remain outside the confirmed translation coverage. The new version number is not a claim of complete coverage.
Boot the patched ISO fresh and load a normal memory-card save. Save states made during the affected scenes retain old executable data, resources and subtitle timings.
What's included
English menus and help, Encyclopedia entries, unit and pilot names, supported mission/story/in-mission dialogue, battle shouts, meeting captions, abilities, support details, command lists and branching Situation Reports. What changed since v0.1.47
- Opening lyrics inside the CG. Adds 19 approved romaji/English lyric cues in a compact two-line layout inside the full picture. Original movie audio is preserved.
- Credits conversation and song subtitles. Adds 72 English dialogue cues and 26 romaji/English lyric cues to the live credits. Lyrics appear at the top and dialogue at the bottom; scrolling staff names and logos stay clear of the captions.
- Longer ending subtitle holds. Keeps captions visible for 0.5 seconds after a line ends, unless the next line follows sooner.
- Missing ending comm dialogue translated. Covers 17 timed lines and the quit prompt in four copies of the previously missed sequence, including Jamil's “Everyone...! Well done!”
- Ending story disclaimer translated. Replaces the image-based disclaimer after the credits with English.
- Menu and stat layout fixes. Widens Game and Controls caption columns, restores missing option labels, separates long choices such as Flight Rev. and Invert X/Y, and widens Intermission buttons for Combat Records. Moves stat gauges clear of their captions and uses Streak for consecutive sorties.
The changelog has further details. This release packages the approved 0.1.64 content in the original disc's file order for smaller patches. All 133 game files match that build; the release has its own 0.1.65 identity because its disc layout differs.

What changed since v0.1.42
- Branching Situation Reports translated. Adds 142 title/dialogue rows across 16 missed report resources, including Federation Movements, Shirahime and the Hojo Army. Preserves scene commands, glossary links, route conditions and images, with dialogue fitted to three lines.
- Stat panels corrected. Translates the image-based Player Sorties caption. Fits Parameters, Consec. Sorties and the six stat labels in Deployment, Unit Upgrades and recruitment panels; moves the upgrade heading clear of the border.
- Game option names clarified. Uses Lock-On Info, Lock-On Priority and Ingame Comm, with adjusted text boxes for the previously missing labels.
- Briefing headings fitted. Uses Victory and Defeat beside the objectives so both headings fit their column.
- Nu Gundam capitalization corrected. Updates 40 stored name/dialogue occurrences, including the HWS variant, and the translation glossary.
The changelog contains further detail. The report audit found no remaining Japanese in the active text rows of 156 window resources and the 40 previously supported mission resources. That audit does not cover every unknown resource format, unclassified mission variant or image-based caption.
Release images preserve the original file order for smaller patches. All 133 disc files were verified against the test build before packaging. Their ISO hashes differ from local test builds.
Release status
The recent fixes still need in-game confirmation. Translation, layout and disc checks passed, but this exact release has not been fully playtested. Patch verification does not establish full-game playability.
Some image-based labels, including the "battle stations" briefing banner, and the burned-in subtitles of two late-game movies remain Japanese.
Boot the patched ISO fresh in PCSX2 and load a normal memory-card save. Older save states retain executable data and text from the previous build.
What's included
English menus and help, Encyclopedia entries, unit and pilot names, mission text, story and in-mission dialogue, battle shouts, meeting captions, abilities, support details and command lists, plus the branching Situation Reports added in this release. English prologue subtitles are included. A full patch and matching v0.1.42 upgrade are provided.

What changed since v0.1.35
- More gameplay text translated. Covers abilities, support details, unit command lists, shared action instructions and pause-map names.
- Remaining names and confirmations translated. Includes model and Results names and shared Yes/No prompts.
- Pause objectives aligned. Separates overlapping Victory/Defeat headings from their objectives.
- Communication text fits. Fits overflowing messages into three lines so linked terms such as Londo Bell remain visible.
- Encyclopedia pagination fixed. Restores text lost between pages while preserving wording and glossary links.
- Warnings and options completed. Completes the memory-card operation warnings and fits long option labels.
- Labels clarified. Uses Purchasable, Combo scene, Comm messages, Camera Movement and Situation Report.
The changelog contains further detail. The build verifies all 10,344 archive payloads and all 133 disc files. Both remaining patches were decoded and compared with their intended ISO by size and SHA-256. Download checksums and exact source/output identities are provided in SHA256SUMS.txt and BUILD-MANIFEST.json; VALIDATION.json records successful patch round trips.
The Retro Trans packaging update adds those three metadata files. The remaining xdelta files and resulting English prologue image are unchanged. Release images preserve the original file order, with DATA.BIN enlarged and later files moved accordingly; their hashes differ from local test builds.
Release status
In-game confirmation is still pending for this release. The recent layout and pagination fixes passed automated checks but still need fresh-boot testing. Patch verification does not establish full-game playability.
Some image-based labels, including Player Sorties and the "battle stations" briefing banner, and the burned-in subtitles of two late-game movies remain Japanese.

The original Japanese ISO is 4,447,076,352 bytes; SHA-256 5264079d36d953f464b166052e1ddea9be22a84c30a9333da24b8e1471311705.
Output: 4,452,986,880 bytes; SHA-256 db226b8474d3b7f833eff553d78743f7f78d20d2cb3cd78e75a67a67a901d70c. The upgrade requires the published v0.1.33 English-prologue image. Manual patchers require an unpacked ISO.
What changed since v0.1.33
- Pilot battle shouts translated. Covers 101 shout tables and 4,256 lines across the units.
- Unit and pilot labels translated. Includes the labels stored with each unit.
- Encyclopedia series names translated. Adds the English series names beneath entries.
- Kids Munt corrected. Replaces the on-disc "Kizz Munt" name.
The changelog contains further detail. The patches are larger than v0.1.33's because the 111 unit models containing the shouts also have compressed copies that needed to be recompressed. Builds are verified offline against archive payloads and disc files; compare the patched ISO with the output hashes above.
Release status
The battle shouts and original-layout release discs still need fresh-boot testing. Offline verification does not establish full-game playability. Please report problems with a screenshot and the mission or screen where they occur.
Ability names, the "battle stations" briefing banner and the burned-in subtitles of two late-game movies remain Japanese in this release.
Boot the patched ISO fresh in PCSX2 and load a normal memory-card save. Older save states retain executable data and text from the previous build.
What's included
English menus, options and help; Encyclopedia entries; unit and pilot names; mission titles and secret goals; the opening history crawl; Global Meetings, briefings and Situation Archive conversations; hangar and in-mission dialogue and HUD alerts for all 35 mission slots across both story routes; meeting-picture captions; and pilot battle shouts. English prologue subtitles are included. A full patch and matching v0.1.33 upgrade are provided.
