Inchgrove is a free bonsai manager for Android, Windows and Linux. This release adds job suggestions to the seasonal guide, a new Reference section, and more species to choose from. Install it over 1.0.0 and your collection is kept.

What's new

• Suggested jobs: when the seasonal guide's advice names a job, you can add it to your collection's jobs in one tap, or to the trees it suits, due as the season ends. A tree repotted too recently is left out of suggested wiring, defoliation and heavy pine pruning until it has recovered.
• Reference: a new section covering pests and diseases, styles, techniques, soil ingredients and tree sizes. Each entry shows which of your trees and pots it applies to.
• Where a tree came from: record a tree's source (nursery stock, bonsai vendor, garden grown, wild collected, or your own wording). The statistics break your collection down by source.
• More species: 32 popular cultivars added, including Satsuki azaleas, Japanese white and black pines, Japanese and trident maples, junipers, figs and jades. Many common names are clearer, in every language.

If you sync between devices

Update every device to 1.1.0. A device still on 1.0.0 keeps receiving changes from the others, but it stops sending its own until you update it, and it tells you so.

Inchgrove is a free bonsai manager for Android, Windows and Linux. It keeps a record of each tree: its species, pot, measurements, photos, diary and the jobs it needs. Your collection stays on your device unless you back it up or sync it. Nothing is locked behind a purchase, and there are no record limits.

What it does

• Trees and pots: species, sources, measurements with the height-to-trunk ratio, and pot sets for a batch of identical pots. Trees and pots can record what they cost and what they're worth.
• Photos and progression: pick the photos that show a tree's progression. On a phone, Match this shot shows the old photo faintly over the camera view so you can repeat its angle.
• Jobs and diary: plan the work each tree needs and keep notes as you go.
• Care guides and reference: species and genus notes, genus traits, pests and diseases, styles, techniques and soil ingredients.
• Backup and sync: save a backup file, or sync between devices through Dropbox or OneDrive.
• Desktop extras: printed reports (a year in review, a valuation schedule for an insurer, a job sheet including one for whoever minds your trees while you're away, and a list of records to update) and QR label sheets.
• Phone extras: scan a label to open its tree, and add jobs to your calendar.
• Languages: English, German, Dutch, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Japanese.

Updates

The app checks this page about once a day and tells you when a new version is out. It never downloads or installs anything itself. Install the new file over the old one and your data is kept. You can turn the check off in Settings.
