  • Trackers can have a short description. Add it when you create a tracker, or select Edit details on the tracker card.
  • Uploads show in a tray in the bottom-right corner. The tray stays visible while you move through Vueio.

Improved

  • Tracker cards show the full name on up to two lines. Each card also shows the description, the done shots, the created date, and the last activity.
  • Dashboards and trackers show in separate groups in a project.
  • The upload window closes when your files start to upload. The tray shows the progress of each file.
  • A failed upload stays in the tray with a Retry button. A completed upload leaves the tray after six seconds.
  • Vueio asks you to confirm if you close the tab while files upload.
  • Vueio uses updated image and web libraries. The updates fix published security problems.

Fixed

  • Tall images now show in full in the viewer. Before, the viewer cut off the top and bottom of a tall image.
  • On a phone, the image area now takes the shape of the image. Tall images show larger.
  • Drawings on a tall image now align with the image.
  • A status change on a project card now shows immediately. You do not have to reload the page.
  • An upload now goes to the correct project when you open a different project during the upload.

Before you update

  • This release adds a database field for tracker descriptions. The update adds it automatically.
  • vueioctl rollback restores the pre-update database backup. Tracker descriptions that you add after the update are lost after a rollback. Application files, uploads, attachments, project files, and media are not changed or restored.

  • You can review 3D models in the browser. Supported files are GLB, glTF, OBJ, FBX, STL, and Alembic (ABC).
  • The 3D viewer plays animations. You can select a clip and step one frame at a time.
  • You can add comments and drawings to a 3D view. A comment saves the camera view and the animation frame.
  • 3D files show a preview thumbnail. Vueio frames each model so that it is easy to see at any size.
  • The 3D viewer shows textures and physically based materials (PBR). This includes glTF clearcoat, sheen, transmission, and compressed textures.
  • The lighting menu has Studio, Daylight, and Night settings. You can also change the light strength and direction.

Improved

  • Settings has a clearer layout. Members, Branding, and Previews each have a separate page.
  • The GPU check now tests each preview task. A task that does not pass the check uses the CPU.
  • Setup tells you when graphics hardware needs more host setup.
  • When the textures of a model are too large for the browser, the viewer shows them at a lower resolution. The original files do not change.
  • The viewer lowers the resolution of roughness, metalness, and occlusion maps first. Color and normal maps keep the most detail.
  • Compressed textures in KTX2 files use their own smaller levels. These textures keep more detail and load faster.
  • Folders with many 3D models stay responsive while thumbnails are made.
  • Vueio makes one 3D thumbnail at a time, and only when the browser is not busy. Thumbnails stop while a 3D viewer is open or the browser tab is hidden.
  • When you scroll away from a thumbnail, Vueio stops making it.
  • Thumbnails use textures of up to 1024 pixels. This makes them faster and uses less memory. The viewer keeps full detail.
  • The 3D decoders load as cached files with the rest of the application.
  • Project status names are the same in the project list, the sidebar, and project settings.
  • Buttons, titles, tabs, and fields use sentence case. Menus, toolbars, and settings rows are aligned.
  • A focus ring shows which control has keyboard focus. A disabled main button now looks inactive.
  • In the assignee list, "Unassigned" aligns with the names.
  • File details show the type, size, and date with equal spacing. On small screens, only the date gets shorter.
  • Audio files show an audio icon. Date pickers use the dark theme.
  • On phones, the selection box on a shot card is easier to see on the thumbnail.
  • The sign-in screen does not show an empty top bar.
  • The import type selector and the shared link password field are simpler.

Fixed

  • The viewer tells you when a texture file is missing. The model opens without that texture.
  • An OBJ model now opens when its material file is missing. The viewer tells you which file to upload.
  • An OBJ model that uses more than one material file now loads all of its material files.
  • KTX2 textures in separate files now show on glTF models. Before, these models showed without color.
  • A glTF model can load only the files next to it that the server allows. This also applies to KTX2 texture files.
  • 3D models with large textures now open. Before, the viewer stopped with a texture budget error.
  • 3D files with large textures now get a preview thumbnail.
  • Project settings no longer show an access level, such as "Can view", in place of a status name.
  • The version menu in the viewer has the correct width.
  • When you move to a different frame, the viewer hides the drawing of the selected comment. Before, the drawing stayed on the wrong frame.

Before you update

  • No database migration is added. CPU processing remains the default. GPU processing remains optional.
  • A 3D thumbnail appears after an administrator or a member who can edit the project opens its folder or the model. Shared links do not create thumbnails.
  • Some files get a thumbnail only when an administrator or a member who can edit the project opens them in the viewer. These are Alembic files, FBX files larger than 8 MB, OBJ or STL files larger than 16 MB, and GLB or glTF files larger than 64 MB.
  • A thumbnail that was made before this release does not change. It changes when the model file changes.
  • For the best materials, export models as GLB files. FBX and OBJ files use older material types.
  • A message tells you when a model shows textures at a lower resolution. For full detail, export GLB files with KTX2 textures.
  • On Apple Silicon Macs, the update also replaces the media helper. The new GPU check needs this helper.
  • Engine scans report 37 HIGH or CRITICAL advisory IDs, including one CRITICAL advisory. This is the same set as the previous Stable release.
  • Sixteen FFmpeg matches have prior verified upstream fixes. Twenty-one system-library advisories remain unresolved.
  • Some findings can cause crashes or code execution. These reports do not establish that Vueio is exploitable.
  • No packaged fixes are available in the current distribution. The release owner accepts these disclosed risks.
  • The UI image has no HIGH or CRITICAL findings. Each release now installs the latest operating system package fixes.
  • Apple Silicon Mac support remains experimental. Intel Macs are not supported.
  • A reconnected USB drive can require a Docker Desktop restart. Offline tracker browsing remains limited.
  • Physical NVIDIA and AMD GPU checks remain incomplete. This release does not claim support checks on every GPU family.
  • Back up the database before you update. Keep original media backups separate.
  • Rollback restores the pre-update database backup. Database changes made after that backup are lost.
  • Rollback does not change application files, uploads, attachments, project files, or original media.

Fixed

  • 3D models with large textures now open. Before, the viewer stopped with a texture budget error.
  • 3D files with large textures now get a preview thumbnail.

Improved

  • When the textures of a model are too large for the browser, the viewer shows them at a lower resolution. The original files do not change.
  • The viewer lowers the resolution of roughness, metalness, and occlusion maps first. Color and normal maps keep the most detail.
  • Compressed textures in KTX2 files use their own smaller levels. These textures keep more detail and load faster.
  • Thumbnails use textures of up to 2048 pixels. This makes thumbnails faster and uses less memory.

Before you update

  • No database migration is added. CPU processing remains the default. GPU processing remains optional.
  • A message tells you when a model shows textures at a lower resolution. For full detail, export GLB files with KTX2 textures.
  • Engine scans report 37 HIGH or CRITICAL advisory IDs, including one CRITICAL advisory. This is the same set as the current Stable release.
  • Sixteen FFmpeg matches have prior verified upstream fixes. Twenty-one system-library advisories remain unresolved.
  • Some findings can cause crashes or code execution. These reports do not establish that Vueio is exploitable.
  • No packaged fixes are available in the current distribution. The release owner accepts these disclosed risks.
  • The UI image has no HIGH or CRITICAL findings.

  • You can review 3D models in the browser. Supported files are GLB, glTF, OBJ, FBX, STL, and Alembic (ABC).
  • The 3D viewer plays animations. You can select a clip and step one frame at a time.
  • You can add comments and drawings to a 3D view. A comment saves the camera view and the animation frame.
  • 3D files show a preview thumbnail. Vueio frames each model so that it is easy to see at any size.
  • The 3D viewer shows textures and physically based materials (PBR). This includes glTF clearcoat, sheen, transmission, and compressed textures.
  • The viewer tells you when a texture file is missing. The model opens without that texture.
  • The lighting menu has Studio, Daylight, and Night settings. You can also change the light strength and direction.

Improved

  • Settings has a clearer layout. Members, Branding, and Previews each have a separate page.
  • The GPU check now tests each preview task. A task that does not pass the check uses the CPU.
  • Setup tells you when graphics hardware needs more host setup.

Before you update

  • No database migration is added. CPU processing remains the default. GPU processing remains optional.
  • A thumbnail for a 3D file appears after an administrator or Horizons editor opens its folder or the model. Shared links do not create thumbnails.
  • Alembic files and models larger than 64 MB get a thumbnail when someone opens them in the viewer.
  • For the best materials, export models as GLB files. FBX and OBJ files use older material types.
  • On Apple Silicon Macs, the update also replaces the media helper. The new GPU check needs this helper.

  • Export a comparison as an MP4. Use moving footage or freeze both versions on one frame.
  • Set wipe timing with frame numbers. Add optional labels and a logo.
  • Choose the original aspect ratio, 3:4, 1:1, or 16:9. Split view chooses the arrangement that shows more picture.
  • Vueio removes unused video previews after 30 days by default. You can turn this off in Settings.
  • Cleanup keeps original files. Vueio creates previews again when the original storage is connected.

Improved

  • Video comparison uses one synchronized preview. Playback, seeking, and frame steps keep both versions together.
  • The wipe control follows the pointer smoothly. Comparison also works on compact screens.
  • A shorter version holds its last frame while the longer version continues. Seeking back restores the shared range.
  • Comparison previews use smaller files while keeping visible detail.
  • The sidebar shows consistent thumbnails and file-type icons. Compact view remains available.
  • Sidebar spacing, project controls, and notifications are easier to scan on desktop and mobile.

Fixed

  • Long, high-bitrate videos no longer build large memory queues during preview processing. Preview quality stays the same.
  • Failed previews stop instead of restarting with each progress check. Reopen the video to try again.
  • The player waits for a ready preview and shows the preparation error when processing fails.
  • Media notices distinguish unavailable storage, missing files, and changed files. Unused retired records no longer inflate the count.

  • The sidebar shows consistent file previews and file-type icons. Compact view remains available.
  • Sidebar spacing, project controls, and notifications are easier to scan on desktop and mobile.

Fixed

  • Long, high-bitrate videos no longer build large memory queues during preview processing. Preview quality stays the same.
  • Failed previews stop instead of restarting with each progress check. Reopen the video to try again.
  • The player waits for a ready preview and shows the preparation error when processing fails.

Before you update

  • No database migration is added. CPU processing remains the default. GPU processing remains optional.
  • Engine scans report 37 HIGH or CRITICAL advisory IDs, including one CRITICAL advisory.
  • Sixteen FFmpeg matches have prior verified upstream fixes. Twenty-one system-library advisories remain unresolved.
  • Some findings can cause crashes or code execution. These reports do not establish that Vueio is exploitable.
  • No packaged fixes are available in the current distribution. The release owner accepts these disclosed risks.

  • Export a video comparison as an MP4. Use moving footage or freeze both versions on one frame.
  • Set the wipe start and end with frame numbers. Add optional before-and-after labels and a logo.
  • Choose the original aspect ratio, 3:4, 1:1, or 16:9. Split view selects the arrangement that shows more picture.
  • Wipe exports fill the output height. Wide images crop equally at both sides when needed.

Improved

  • The navigator uses simpler controls, consistent text, and status colors on category headings.
  • Project view controls use less space. Sort and filter menus keep their keyboard controls.
  • Release images now build on separate native AMD64 and ARM64 workers.

Fixed

  • Media notices distinguish unavailable storage, missing files, and changed files.
  • Media notices count file locations once. Unused retired records no longer inflate the count.

Before you update

  • Comparison exports contain no audio. Exports require access to both versions. Shared links must permit downloads.
  • Exports are limited to five minutes and available frames in both versions. Download links expire after 24 hours.
  • No database migration is added. CPU processing remains the default. GPU processing remains optional.
  • This Nightly includes 19 unresolved HIGH or CRITICAL advisories in bundled system libraries, including one CRITICAL advisory.
  • Six HIGH advisories are newly reported: CVE-2026-66046, CVE-2026-86138, CVE-2026-86139, CVE-2026-86142, CVE-2026-86143, and CVE-2026-86144.
  • Some findings can involve excessive CPU use, crashes, code execution, or resource-access restrictions. Vueio exploitability is not established.
  • The current Debian base has no packaged fixes. The release owner accepts these risks for this Nightly.

Improved

  • Video comparison uses one synchronized preview. Playback, seeking, and frame steps keep both versions together.
  • The wipe control follows the pointer smoothly. Comparison also works on compact screens.
  • A shorter version holds its last frame while the longer version continues. Moving back restores the shared range.
  • Comparison previews use smaller files while keeping visible detail.
  • New documentation covers installation, review, sharing, storage, and workspace tasks.

New

  • Vueio removes unused video previews after 30 days by default. You can turn this off in Settings.
  • Cleanup keeps original files. Vueio creates a preview again when needed, if its original storage is connected.

Fixed

  • Comparison no longer relies on two players starting and staying in sync.
  • The media engine includes FFmpeg 9.0.1 security fixes. Unused media libraries are removed from the server image.

Before you update

  • Back up your installation. This release does not change the database schema. CPU processing remains the default.
  • Opening a comparison for the first time creates a cached preview. This uses processing time and temporary storage.
  • Versions with different frame rates align by elapsed time. Their frame numbers can differ.
  • Apple Silicon remains experimental. Real Mac checks cover updates, backup and restore, sleep, and sign-in recovery.
  • After you reconnect a USB drive, Docker Desktop may need a restart before Vueio can read it again.
  • An offline drive can prevent its tracker from opening. Project records and comments remain stored.
  • Physical NVIDIA and AMD hardware were not available for this release check.
  • The server image still has 13 unresolved upstream security advisories, including one critical advisory. Some describe crashes or possible code execution. These findings do not prove Vueio is exploitable. No distribution fixes are available in the reviewed package set.
  • Raw scans also list 16 FFmpeg findings. Their fixes are present in the bundled upstream source. The full reports remain available in the release workflow.
  • Use this alpha with trusted users. Keep the host and Docker updated.
  • vueioctl rollback restores the pre-update database backup. Database changes made after that backup are lost. Application files and original media are not changed or restored.
