Tisty 1.4.1

Two things 1.4.0 promised and did not do, and a diagram that would not draw.

Reordering works now. The last release said a folder could be dragged where you
wanted it; on Windows it could not. Tauri's own drag and drop, which the window
needs so you can pull a file in from the desktop, switches off the browser's —
so every drop was refused, and the pointer said so with a barred circle over the
whole tree. The tree no longer asks the browser: it follows the pointer itself,
which also means it behaves the same on Windows and on macOS, and files dragged
in from outside keep working.

While you carry something, each row offers three places: above it, below it, and
inside it. Above the first row and below the last are what the old four-pixel
seam between rows could never reliably give you, which is why nothing could be
put first or last. The list rolls itself when you reach its edge, at the same
speed whether the machine draws sixty frames a second or thirty. Escape lets go
of whatever you were holding, and a folder is only offered a place it can
actually go: never inside itself, never where it would push the tree past four
levels, and never among the archived. What the accent line promises is what
happens.

One of those took reading WebKit's source to find. On a Mac, a flick of the
trackpad keeps the list moving after your fingers stop, and while a button is
held WebKit never sends the event that would say what is now under the pointer.
The line stayed frozen on the row that was there before the flick, so letting go
without moving dropped the document somewhere you were never shown. The tree now
listens for the list moving, not just for the pointer.

Coming back from a page puts you where you were, which is what the last release
claimed. It restored the position on the frame after the sheet appeared, before
the editor had laid the text out, and a browser clips a scroll past what is
there — so it landed at the top every time. It now asks until the room exists,
gives way the moment you scroll yourself, and no longer saves a clipped position
as the place you left.

A document with pages is no longer dressed as a folder. It kept the same
chevron, in the same place, at the same size, so a shelf of documents read as a
shelf of folders. Now it keeps its own page icon, and a + appears beside it when
you point at the row or reach it with the keyboard.

And a diagram is measured where there is room to measure it. A mermaid flowchart
was handed the box it would be shown in, which is empty while the sheet is still
being laid out; measuring text there returns zero, so nodes collapsed to specks
and edges sprawled across the page. Pie charts were fine, because they never
measure text to place anything — which is why the guide had one diagram that
looked right and two that did not.
