Rhino Icon Editor v1.1.0

Public release with visual Shape editing and a safer workflow for both existing Scheme owners and first-time icon authors.

Highlights

  • Open an existing Rhino 8 Scheme XML and turn GUID-only resources into a searchable visual icon library.
  • Create a blank icon project from the built-in GUID/name index without bundling Rhino artwork or the author's theme icons.
  • Search and filter icons by display name or GUID.
  • Edit, paste, normalize, clean and preview Rhino SVG in Light and Dark modes.
  • Browse visible SVG shapes, isolate one in the preview, and edit fill, stroke, opacity, line cap and line join.
  • Fit visible artwork within the 48 × 48 canvas and adjust its size and position.
  • Edit colors with reusable Quick Colors.
  • Export one SVG, every SVG, a modified XML copy, or a completed icon patch.
  • Batch-import a GUID-named SVG folder with preflight checks.
  • Back up and restore XML safely, with external-change conflict protection.
  • Optionally edit and reorder the Scheme's Middle Mouse popup toolbar.
  • Bilingual in-app help.

v1.1 improvements

  • Added the visual Shapes browser and compact per-shape appearance editor.
  • Added consistent, responsive Shape cards and smooth custom sliders.
  • Fixed zero-opacity Shape previews and Light/Dark thumbnail refresh behavior.
  • Kept existing thumbnails visible while changing icon-card size.
  • Import SVG, Paste graphic and Copy SVG now remain available in Shapes mode.
  • Improved large-library scrolling, virtualization and window-resize behavior.

Distribution notes

  • Windows desktop application; .NET 9 Desktop Runtime is required by this build.
  • The release does not contain the author's personal Rhino Scheme, complete custom icon theme, shortcuts, layouts or backups.
  • Blank projects contain names and GUIDs only. Unfinished entries are never exported as empty Rhino icon overrides.
  • The three files in Data are required built-in lookup/template data; see DATA_FILES.md in the source repository.
  • Source code is available under the Mozilla Public License 2.0.
