The first release of CSSV Viewer, a desktop app that opens .cssv files with the @rhpaiva/cssv 0.5 renderer.

  • One window with a tab for each file, named after the file's title (§4.6) or its name; files opened from the file manager, the command line or a drop open in the running viewer.
  • A home with the 8 latest recent files as cards, each previewing the table's first rows in its own styles, with its title, description and size.
  • Saving a file updates its tab in place: unchanged rows and the scroll position stay.
  • Problems the renderer reports are listed under the toolbar, with their section of the spec and a link to the line in the file.
  • Toolbar: find in the values, plain view without the style block, the source beside the table, light or dark, the language numbers display in, copy (cells, the table for spreadsheets, Markdown, CSV), and save as CSV, PNG or SVG.
  • Print preview on A4 or Letter, either orientation, fit to width or actual size, with the file's @media print rules; on Linux the PDF is named after the file, goes next to it and has the preview's paper.
  • Ctrl+K opens a palette of the toolbar's and the tabs' commands and the recent files.
  • A file may load only files in its folder and below, never hidden ones, and nothing remote until the reader allows it for the tab or always for the file (§11.2).
  • Linux AppImage that runs on Ubuntu 22.04 and later and can set itself up to open .cssv files; .deb, .rpm, macOS and Windows installers register the file type themselves.
