Ghostwriter Studio v0.2.0

Renamed to Ghostwriter Studio, with a clear no-warranty disclaimer.

This release rebrands the app and makes its "as is, no liability" terms visible where users actually see them. No functional changes to the editor, AI drafting, or project format — projects and .ghostwriter/config.json files remain fully compatible.

Highlights

  • New name: Ghostwriter Studio. The user-facing name changes throughout — window title, About dialog, menus, docs, and the web UI — for trademark clarity. Your existing books need no changes.
  • Warranty & liability disclaimer. A plain-language statement that the software is provided "as is", without warranty, and that the authors accept no liability for damage or data loss, now appears in three places:
    • the README,
    • an in-app About Ghostwriter Studio dialog (macOS app menu; Help menu on Windows/Linux),
    • an installer license shown by the macOS DMG and the Windows installer before install.

Changed

  • Rebranded user-facing strings across the Electron shell, server startup banner, and client (folder-mapper and sidebar).
  • Added Ghostwriter Studio brand assets (logo/icon).
  • Bumped version to 0.2.0.

Unchanged / compatibility

  • Project format, the .ghostwriter/ config directory, and the ghostwriter-config format identifier are unchanged — v0.1.0 books open as-is.

Notes

  • The macOS .dmg and its license agreement must be built on macOS (the DMG step needs macOS-only tooling); the Linux AppImage has no install-time license prompt, so the README and in-app About cover Linux users.
