dsync v1.1.0 – Cross-Directory and Device File Sync Utility

dsync is a lightweight command-line utility for synchronizing files between directories and devices. With a focus on simplicity and control, it offers flexible sync modes, optional verbosity, and support for ignoring dotfiles.

This release, v1.1.0, introduces enhancements in usability, including clearer flags and improved sync behavior options.

Key Features & Options

  • -s, --src
(Required) Source directory to sync from.

  • -d, --dst
(Required) Destination directory to sync to.

  • -m, --method
    Synchronization method. Default is target.
    Available methods:

    • target: Makes the destination exactly match the source. Extra files in destination are deleted.
    • dual: Bi-directional sync. Changes are merged both ways. No deletions.
  • -i, --ignore_df
Ignore dotfiles (e.g. .git, .env). Default: false.

  • -v, --verbose
    Controls verbosity level:

    • 0: Off
    • 1: Brief (default)
    • 2: Detailed logging
  • -h, --help
    Displays usage information.

Example Usage

dsync --src ~/disk1 --dst ~/disk2 --method=target --verbose 2
