Enhanced Customization Options

We've added several new customization options to make Project Launcher more flexible and adaptable to your workflow:

  • Customizable Search Depth: Control how deep the plugin searches for projects (default: 4 levels)
  • Adjustable Cache Duration: Set how long search results are cached to optimize performance (default: 30 seconds)
  • Configurable Results Limit: Choose how many projects to display in the results list (default: 10 results)
  • Debounce Delay Control: Fine-tune the typing response sensitivity (default: 0.4 seconds)

Performance Improvements

  • More efficient project discovery with customizable parameters
  • Better handling of large project collections through caching optimization
  • Reduced filesystem operations with smarter search algorithms

馃挕 How to Use the New Features

Accessing the New Settings

  1. Open Ulauncher preferences
  2. Navigate to the Extensions tab
  3. Find "Project Launcher" and click the settings icon

  • Set max_results to 15-20 for more options

For Deep Project Structures

  • Increase search_depth to 5-6 if your projects are nested deeply
  • Adjust cache_duration accordingly to maintain performance

For Slower Systems

  • Increase debounce_delay to 0.6-0.8 seconds
  • Reduce search_depth to 3 to minimize filesystem operations

馃敡 Technical Details

Configuration Options

  • search_depth: Controls how many directory levels deep to search (integer)
  • cache_duration: Sets cache lifetime in seconds (integer)
  • max_results: Limits the number of projects displayed (integer)
  • debounce_delay: Sets delay before search triggers after typing (float)

Implementation Notes

  • All new settings have sensible defaults for typical usage
  • Settings are applied immediately without requiring restart
  • Compatible with both fd and standard find commands
