Release list
v0.28.0
What's new
- Fix: stopping a movie flashed the earlier screens one after another and ended on the main menu. When playback stops, Kodi reloads the Rivulet folder it was started from, which opened a second copy of Rivulet on top of the source list. Rivulet now notices it is already running and stays put, so stopping returns to the source list, and Back goes one screen per press.
- Fix: Rivulet now waits until Kodi has fully closed the player before showing its screens again, and ignores clicks and Back presses made while the video was playing.
- Fix: Back works on every loading spinner within a fraction of a second, including catalog, title, cast, library, My Stuff, addon catalog and addon install loads. Cancelling keeps you on the current screen and the late result is discarded.
- Fix: Back presses were sometimes lost while a screen or spinner was closing. Rivulet's windows no longer play a closing animation, which made Kodi drop them.
- Fix: a Back pressed just before a spinner appeared closed the screen underneath. It now cancels the spinner.
- Fix: Back during "Preparing stream" now cancels within a second, also while the download statistics are being fetched.
- Improved: syncing your addons to your Stremio account after an install shows a cancellable "Syncing addons…" spinner.
- Fix: Kodi no longer logs "Kodi is not playing any media file" after a stop; your last position is still saved.

v0.27.1
What's new
- Fix: after "Preparing stream" finished, the source list could sit on screen for up to half a minute before playback began, while subtitles were still being fetched. A source picked in that time was played as soon as the first one started, so "Preparing stream" reopened again and again and the first stream failed to open. Subtitles are now fetched while the stream is being prepared, the dialog stays up until playback starts (showing "Loading subtitles…" for at most 8 seconds if they are late), and extra picks made meanwhile are ignored.
Commits
- fix(streams): ignore picks queued while another is preparing (4ae662e)
- fix(player): fetch subtitles during stream preparation, under the dialog (b92d91a)
- chore(release): 0.27.1 (70e7be9)

v0.27.0
What's new
- Fix: searches and catalogs could show a single result called "[X] AIOStreams", or nothing at all. That entry was an error message from a busy AIOStreams server, not a title. Rivulet now treats it as a failed request and shows the results from your other addons.
- Improved: search asks all your addons at the same time instead of one after another, so one slow addon no longer holds up the rest. Back now cancels a search right away.
- Improved: when a search finds nothing, Rivulet tells you why: none of your addons can search (enable Cinemeta), every addon failed, or which addons did not answer. "No streams found" no longer appears for an empty search.
- Fix: while preparing a torrent stream, Rivulet now passes the source's own trackers to the streaming server, so torrents find peers sooner. It also picks the largest video file in a torrent, not the largest file of any kind, and files smaller than the buffer size no longer stall before playback.
- Fix: the position where you stopped watching was not saved when playback ended. It is now.
- Fix: the built-in streaming server accepted connections from other devices on your network without a password. It now listens only on this device, unless DLNA or a public proxy URL is turned on.
- Changed: the built-in streaming server is updated to stremio-server-go v0.20.1. It reports real download speed and peer counts, keeps more downloaded torrents in its cache, no longer re-reads the end of a video on every seek, and brings a long list of stability and security fixes.
- Improved: the bridge addon writes one log line per failing source instead of two.
