We’re excited to launch the first release of Flick - a cross-platform desktop utility that brings AI-powered text transformation directly to your cursor, anywhere you type.

Whether you’re writing emails, notes, messages, docs, or code, Flick helps you rewrite, fix, translate, and polish text instantly using simple trigger commands, without switching apps or breaking your flow.

🛠️ Built-in commands

Flick includes 10 ready-to-use commands:

  • !fix — fix grammar, spelling, punctuation, and awkward phrasing
  • !formal — make text sound more professional
  • !casual — make text sound more natural and friendly
  • !shorter — condense long text
  • !longer — expand ideas and details
  • !improve — improve clarity, flow, grammar, and readability
  • !rephrase — rewrite with different wording
  • !bullet — turn messy notes into clean bullets
  • !explain — simplify complex text
  • !translate:<lang> — translate into another language

🔧 Custom triggers

You can create your own custom commands from the settings dashboard.

Define a trigger like !tweet, !summarize, or !reply, then add a system prompt describing exactly what you want Flick to do. Existing {{text}} prompt templates are also supported.

🌐 Provider support

Flick currently supports:

  • Gemini
  • OpenRouter

You can configure your provider and model directly from the app settings.

🚀 Getting started

  1. Download the correct installer for your platform
  2. Open Flick from your system tray / menu bar
  3. Add your API key in Settings
  4. Choose your provider and model
  5. Start typing and use commands like !fix or !translate:spanish
