Roadstr is an open-source, decentralised navigation app for Android, built on the Nostr protocol. It combines turn-by-turn GPS navigation with road reports that people publish as Nostr events, public-transport journeys, on-device voice guidance and voice search, Lightning tips for contributors, and map data from OpenStreetMap — with no account, no central server and no analytics.
Current version: 1.2.0 — a native Kotlin app (Jetpack Compose and MapLibre Native). Android only, Android 7.0 or newer. Download it from the latest release.

- Open data, open code. Maps and places come from OpenStreetMap; the code is MIT-licensed.
- No accounts. You can use all of navigation, search, offline maps and voice without signing in to anything. A Nostr identity is only needed to publish or confirm road reports and to sync saved places.
- Your key stays out of the app. You sign in with a signer — Amber on the same phone or a remote bunker — so Roadstr never holds your private key.
- On-device AI, no cloud. Spoken instructions and voice search run on the phone; no audio is sent to a service.
- Honest limits. Features that have not met the real world say so. A ✅ means shipped; 🧪 means experimental or not yet tried on real hardware.
✅ shipped · 🧪 experimental, off by default
