Total War Map Decompiler turns a Total War: Warhammer III campaign map, as it ships in the game, back into Terry projects that you can open, edit and recompile with the Assembly Kit. Start a map mod from Immortal Empires, or from any other campaign, instead of from an empty map.

What you get

  • A campaign Terry project with the whole map: the terrain (heights, textures, colour overlays, snow, corruption, trees, tiles), every prop, sound, light and water plane grouped by province, rivers as editable splines, and the map's lighting and environment volumes.
  • A battle Terry project with the campaign's catchment maps.
  • Optionally, the devastated map as a project of its own.
  • Optionally, the map renamed into a new campaign with its own copies of the shared materials and lighting, and scaled or padded to a new size.

Getting started

  1. Install RPFM 5 and set the game and Assembly Kit paths in its settings.
  2. Download TwMapDecompiler-1.0.0-win-x64.zip below, unzip it anywhere, and start TwMapDecompiler.App.exe. Nothing else needs to be installed.
  3. Point it at your RPFM folder, pick a campaign and click Run.
  4. Open the .terry file it writes into the Assembly Kit in Terry.

The zip also has TwMapDecompiler.Cli.exe, for running from the command line (--help lists the options).

See the README for every option and for what the game's files can't give back.

Requires Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.
