A page's theme-color follows the theme shown, and the footer keeps clear of a phone's bottom bar (#292). Android paints the system bars of a page opened from a phone's home screen from the page's theme-color; the theme block, v6, now keeps that meta on the --ground of the theme shown, read from the tokens, when the page loads and whenever data-theme changes, whichever copy of the switch sets it. A page without the meta is left as it is. The prose footer block, v4, adds env(safe-area-inset-bottom) to its bottom padding, so on a page that declares viewport-fit=cover its last row stays above the phone's bottom bar; everywhere else the inset is 0 and the padding is the 2rem it was.
What breaks. Nothing. A page that declares no theme-color and no viewport-fit=cover renders exactly as before.
How to take it. Re-pin and run npm run design; page.js, deck.js and page.css are what change, and on a fenced page the theme and prose footer fences. To use it, a page declares <meta name="theme-color"> with dark's ground, and a site that wants a home-screen app adds a web app manifest; both are the site's own head, not part of this package.
Verified: npm test (1079 pass), conventions-check and conventions-format pass on the release commit; in Chromium, on blust.ch served locally with these blocks, theme-color followed dark, light and dark on the home page, a talk and /model/, and was light on arrival with ?theme=light.
