FileFinder 1.0.23
Bug-fix release.
Fixed
- Indexing crash on drive scans ("Indexing failed — length must be a non-negative value"). The portable directory-walk indexer threw an AggregateException of negative-length errors when merging per-worker results. Root cause:
IndexBuildernever maintained the name/offset terminator slot, so the last file in each parallel worker computed a negative copy length. Fixed by keeping the terminator live after every add/merge.
Downloads
- FileFinder.exe — portable single file (no install, no .NET runtime needed).
- FileFinder-Setup-1.0.23.exe — installer (per-user without admin, or all-users with admin).

New
- Minimizes to the tray instead of closing. Clicking the window's close button now hides FileFinder to the notification area and keeps it running, so the in-memory index stays warm and the next search is instant.
- Single instance. Launching FileFinder again just brings the existing window back to the front instead of opening a second copy.
- Right-click the tray icon → Exit to actually quit (or use File → Exit). Double-click the tray icon (or "Open FileFinder") to restore the window.
Downloads
- FileFinder-Setup-1.0.16.exe — installer.

FileFinder 1.0.15
Adds an application icon — a glossy, dimensional blue magnifying glass — shown on the window, taskbar, executable, and installer.
FileFinder 1.0.14
The sorted column's header is now bold (and darker) so you can see at a glance which column is active, in addition to the up/down direction arrow. Other headers stay in a lighter normal weight.
