HandUMI Quest App v0.2.1
HandUMI Quest App v0.2.1
This is the initial tagged release of HandUMI Quest App: an independent, best-effort Unity reconstruction of YubiQuestApp based on analysis of its IL2CPP APK, which will be extended to support full body tracking.
The app provides a Meta Quest compatibility client for streaming headset and controller telemetry to HandUMI.
Highlights
- Streams HMD and Touch controller poses over TCP port
65432 - Reports buttons, triggers, grips, thumbsticks, touch states, tracking validity, and battery status
- Provides Quest-to-PC time synchronization over UDP port
42000 - Supports controller and hand tracking
- Uses Meta runtime controller models with packaged fallback visuals
- Includes a minimal in-headset connection and status display
- Uses Stage tracking origin with a safe fallback
- Can be installed alongside the reference app using package ID
com.handumi.questapp - Includes a reproducible Unity scene generator and Android build pipeline
- Preserves the recovered HandUMI/YUBI wire protocol
Technical details
- Unity
6000.0.76f1 - Meta XR SDK
74 - OpenXR
1.15.0 - Android ARM64
- IL2CPP
- Vulkan
Important limitation
This is not the original AIRoA/YUBI source code. Original C# method bodies, project settings, prefabs, comments, and version-control history could not be recovered from the IL2CPP APK.
Quest hardware validation and behavioral parity testing are still pending. This release should therefore be treated as experimental and not yet as a verified replacement for the reference application.
Only one compatible app should run at a time because both use TCP port 65432 and UDP port 42000.
