roboto.experimental.video now decodes H.265 (HEVC), VP9, and AV1 compressed-video topics in addition to H.264. A new decode_stream(encoded_frames, codec) decodes an in-order stream of encoded frames for any supported codec, and decode_frames_in_range gains a codec argument (defaulting to H.264). Pass one of the exported codec descriptors (H264, H265, VP9, AV1) as codec, or resolve one from a message's format field with resolve_codec(format), which returns None for formats without a decode path; supported_formats() returns the format tokens that have one. decode_h264_stream behaves as before and is now a wrapper over decode_stream.
roboto.experimental.video gains dependency-free bitstream-inspection helpers for the new codecs, mirroring the existing H.264 helpers: roboto.experimental.video.h265 (find_nal_units, is_keyframe, NalUnitType), roboto.experimental.video.vp9 (is_keyframe), and roboto.experimental.video.av1 (find_obus, is_keyframe, Obu, ObuType).
Restored the roboto console script removed in 0.51.0: pip install roboto installs the roboto command again, and pipx install roboto, uvx roboto, and uv tool install roboto are supported. The standalone CLI binaries (Homebrew, .deb, release executables) remain the recommended way to install the CLI, and python -m roboto.cli continues to work in any Python environment with the SDK installed.
