Options to view 24/7 recording based on timestamp

What supported options are there to view the Viseron 24/7 recording from a timestamp?

I would be OK with a few different options:

• Pass a url (encoded with camera name/timestamp/etc) to vlc and have it play from that point
• API endpoint that will allow for saving a N second segment to disk
• API endpoint that will initiate playing video in the Viseron UI

I don't think this documentation link covers this situation.

If there isn't anything currently supported than we can use this discussion to see what (if anything) makes sense for Viseron.

It is possible to put in the HLS playlist URL that the frontend uses directly into VLC, provided that you dont have authentication enabled.
I am working on being able to create API tokens for stuff like this, should be in the next release and in dev soon i hope.
If you browse to the timeline page in Viseron and look at the requests being made you should see continuous requests to an endpoint ending with index.m3u8

If you want to link to the Viseron interface to a specific camera/timestamp you can do so using query parameters, explained here: https://viseron.netlify.app/docs/documentation/configuration/recordings#events-page-query-parameters

Would any of those options suffice?

I will take a look at those options and give the available ones a try.

For my purposes I created a python script that extracts the video using the HLS playlist URL I can then review the extract using VLC.

I also tried using the query parameters method. However, the system I run Viseron is very slow which made it pretty frustrating.
