Vidora 1.0.85
Vidora 1.0.85 is live on the Chrome Web Store and updates automatically.
Added
- Public broadcasters: videos from Arte, ARD Mediathek, SVT Play and Yle Areena are found directly, in the best available quality, and a whole series can be downloaded in one go.
- Local transcription and chapters: turn a downloaded video into a subtitle file (.srt or .vtt), and get suggested chapters you can write into the MP4, with the AI built into Chrome, entirely on your device.
- A Shortcuts section in Settings, and a keyboard shortcut that opens the side panel.
- Videos that started while a tab was in the background, or on a page restored with the Back button, are found as soon as you return to it.
- A short note in the popup when your browser is too old to detect every video, with a button that opens its update page.
Improved
- Lighter on every page: the detection code now loads only in frames that can hold a video, so pages full of ad frames run about four times less Vidora code.
- Videos inside frames that a page writes itself (blank or inline frames) are detected and captured.
- Sites that limit how fast you can download (HTTP 429) are handled host by host: a slow server no longer slows down your other downloads, and a cancelled download stops at once.
- Every video that Vidora assembles itself (streams, captures) is checked before it is handed to you: its structure and duration are verified, without reading the whole file again.
- Large downloads share one memory budget, so several big videos at once no longer risk crashing the extension.
- The "Rate Vidora" button opens the review form directly.
Fixed
- Security: stream lists found on a page can no longer make the extension contact addresses on your local network, and messages from web pages are checked against the sender they claim.
- Live recordings no longer stop at the first network interruption.
- Audio-only downloads keep their cover art, HLS videos keep their chapters, and Wistia files that were cut short are completed.
- A protected video was sometimes wrongly reported as DRM-locked.
- Subtitle files no longer get a stray "(1)" in their name.
- A direct download resumed after a pause no longer starts over when the server sent nothing.
- Restarting a download you have just cancelled starts at once and shows its own progress, instead of "Cancelled".
If Vidora saves you time, a rating on the Chrome Web Store helps other people find it.

Vidora 1.0.84
Vidora 1.0.84 has been submitted to the Chrome Web Store and will update automatically once Google approves it.
Added
- Faster large downloads: a single video file can now be fetched over several connections at once when the server allows it, and a connection that stalls is retried on its own. On throttled hosts, a 60 MB file took 22 s instead of 58 s in our tests.
- Subtitles everywhere: HLS, DASH and Vimeo subtitle tracks are found, your preferred language is picked automatically, and a "CC" toggle on the in-page button saves them next to the video.
- Local subtitle translation: translate a subtitle file into your language with Chrome's built-in translator, entirely on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere.
- The side panel is now a download manager: search your history, filter by status or type, sort, show a file in its folder, download again, or remove an entry.
- An "Already downloaded" badge on videos you already saved.
- The video you are watching comes first: when a page has several videos, the one that is playing is shown on top and the others are grouped under "Other videos".
- Rename a video right in its card before downloading, and file names are now cleaned of site suffixes by default.
- Title, date and thumbnail are written into the MP4 file, so media libraries like Plex or Jellyfin show them (can be turned off in Settings).
- "Capture" on the in-page button for players that hide their stream: one click records the video while it plays.
- A "What Vidora sends" screen in Settings shows the exact anonymous data last sent, with a one-click switch to turn it off.
Improved
- Videos loaded by players that run in a background worker, and stream lists served without a recognizable name, are now detected.
- DASH videos made of several parts (chapters, inserted ads) are assembled into one continuous file; marked ads are left out.
- Hotmart lessons keep downloading when their access token expires midway.
- Large Wistia files that stall on the direct link switch to the stream and finish.
- "Retry" in the side panel now retries the same video with a fresh link, and is hidden when retrying cannot help.
- A stream link that suddenly returns a web page is retried with a fresher link from the page.
- The review request now shows a row of stars that open the store page, and an "Already done" button that stops it for good.
- Accessibility: keyboard navigation, focus, contrast and screen reader labels across the popup, side panel and settings.
Fixed
- A download interrupted when Chrome restarts the extension is only counted as failed if it is never resumed.
- Downloads made in private windows are no longer kept in the local history.

Vidora 1.0.83
Vidora 1.0.83 has been submitted to the Chrome Web Store and will update automatically once Google approves it.
Improved
- Embedded Vimeo videos: when Chrome's site access setting blocks Vidora, or when Vimeo asks for an anti-robot check, Vidora now says exactly that and how to fix it, in your language, instead of asking you to log in.
- Bunny Stream videos show one card with the quality choice, instead of one card per quality.
- A download interrupted when Chrome stops the extension in the middle of a second attempt now offers "Resume" and is never downloaded twice.
- When a download fails because a browser VPN changes your address (for example Opera's built-in VPN), Vidora now suggests turning it off.
Fixed
- Streams refused whenever the browser sends the page address (seen on videos served by Twitter's CDN) now download.
- Servers that refuse a few pieces when too many are requested at once: Vidora slows down and retries those pieces instead of failing.
- Streams whose list points to further lists, or whose first piece is refused, now download instead of failing.
- Players added to the page a moment after it loads are now detected, and a stream link that actually serves a video file is downloaded as that file.
- Signed stream links that expired while the page stayed open are renewed automatically on supported sites.
- Fewer false cards: a page that names itself as its video, and links that only lead to a login page, are no longer offered as downloads.

Vidora 1.0.82
Vidora 1.0.82 has been submitted to the Chrome Web Store and will update automatically once Google approves it.
Added
- Skool courses: lessons whose video is hosted on Vimeo, Loom or Wistia are now saved with the rest of the course, in their place in the module, with the lesson title and the quality you chose. YouTube lessons are listed by name, since Vidora does not download YouTube.
Fixed
- Bunny Stream videos embedded with a "play" share link, common on course sites, are now found and downloaded instead of failing.
- Pages that list torrent (magnet) links no longer show them as videos that could never download.
- Embedded Vimeo videos: when Chrome's site access setting blocks Vidora on the Vimeo player, Vidora stops retrying in a loop and marks the video as not readable.

Vidora 1.0.81
Vidora 1.0.81 has been submitted to the Chrome Web Store and will update automatically once Google approves it.
Added
- Teachable courses: a lesson video is saved with its sound and its real title, and the "Course" card downloads every lesson you can open in one click, organized by module. Lessons you cannot open are listed by name instead of failing silently.
Improved
- Kajabi and other Wistia videos: the card shows the real title instead of a technical file name, and one video shows one card instead of several.
- When a site protects its video so that only its own player can read it, Vidora now says so clearly and offers to record the playback, instead of a generic error.
Fixed
- Videos offered in several languages: when the sound is published as a separate audio-only stream, Vidora now uses it, so the file has sound instead of failing.
- Hotmart Club courses: fixed a problem found in testing that would have stopped whole-course downloads; single lessons were not affected.

Vidora 1.0.80
Vidora 1.0.80 has been submitted to the Chrome Web Store and will update automatically once Google approves it.
Added
- Instagram videos: reels, video posts and carousels are saved with their sound, at the best quality Instagram serves, with a quality menu and an "Audio only" option. Picture and sound always come from the same video. Works on a post page and when you open a reel from your feed.
Improved
- "Audio only" on videos whose picture and sound are separate files now always saves a real .m4a file.
- The review request after a successful download is easier to read, and says what happens when you click.
Fixed
- Vimeo: a video opened a while ago no longer fails because its stream link expired. Vidora reloads the player's information once and the download goes through.
- Vimeo on course platforms: when the Vimeo player loads but is slow to share its video, Vidora now reads it directly from the player, so the video appears instead of an error.

Vidora 1.0.79
Vidora 1.0.79 has been submitted to the Chrome Web Store and will update automatically once Google approves it.
Added
- Google Drive videos: on a Drive video page, on a course page that embeds a Drive video, or with a pasted Drive link, Vidora now downloads the original file, with its sound, exactly as it was uploaded. Drive documents that are not videos (PDF, photos, archives) never show a download button.
Improved
- Resuming after a browser crash now also works for the most common streaming format (MPEG-TS, used by most HLS videos). Vidora checks that the server still sends the same video before continuing, and starts over cleanly if it does not. The downloaded file is identical to an uninterrupted download.
Fixed
- The message on some unreadable Vimeo videos could flicker in the popup. It now stays put.
- For DASH and Vimeo streams started from the popup after the browser had been idle, the last-resort recovery from the open tab now works as it already did for HLS.
- The automatic retry of a temporary save error now also happens when notifications are turned off.

Vidora 1.0.78
Vidora 1.0.78 has been submitted to the Chrome Web Store and will update automatically once Google approves it.
Improved
- If the browser closes unexpectedly (a crash or an update) during a video download and you reopen it within a few minutes, Vidora now continues on its own from where it stopped, for videos it was already saving piece by piece. After a longer break, it still asks before resuming.
- Skool lessons start downloading about a second sooner: Vidora no longer re-reads the page when the lesson's access link is still valid.
- The quality choice now appears on more videos whose server first refused the request: Hotmart lessons opened a while ago, and video servers that reject requests coming from an extension.
- A visible "Rate" link in the popup footer, in every language, and a clearer review request.
Fixed
- Some Vimeo videos showed nothing at all in the popup when Vimeo did not provide a readable source. Vidora now says so clearly on the video's card instead of staying silent.
- When Chrome reports a temporary error while saving a finished video to disk, Vidora now retries the save once on its own (the file is kept), and only asks you if that also fails.

Vidora 1.0.77: downloads survive server hiccups, ready for Edge
Vidora 1.0.77 has been submitted to the Chrome Web Store and will update automatically once Google approves it. It is also the first version submitted to Microsoft Edge Add-ons.
Fixed
- When a video server briefly answered with errors (such as 502 or 503) on a few parts of a stream, the whole download could fail within seconds. Vidora now pauses, retries those parts later and uses fewer connections at once, so the download completes. A server that keeps failing still ends with a clear error after about two minutes.
- Ready for Microsoft Edge Add-ons: the "Rate Vidora" and "Share" links now open the store you installed Vidora from.

Vidora 1.0.76: reliable long downloads, capture from the video button
Vidora 1.0.76 has been submitted to the Chrome Web Store and will update automatically once Google approves it.
Added
- Capture while playing, from the button on the video. When a player gives no downloadable link, the Download button on the video now offers to record what the player loads. DRM-protected video is still refused.
- Community link in Settings, About.
Fixed
- Long downloads on slow or unstable servers no longer stop after a few interruptions: Vidora keeps resuming as long as the download moves forward, waits longer before retrying, and slows down instead of failing on servers that limit speed.
- The list of qualities could fail to load on some sites even though the download worked. It now loads through the page, without retrying the same failure again and again.
- An expired link redirected to a short placeholder video is no longer saved as the real one, and a link that can never work is no longer offered.
- Course platforms: a stream that went undetected is now found, a failing server is replaced by the platform's backup server, and a lesson is retried with a fresh link.
- When the destination disk is full, the finished video is kept for a while and the card offers "Retry save".
- The Download button no longer appears over a site's fixed menu, and the "Button hidden on this page" message has a close button.
