MINOR bump. Two reasons: (1) the v0.4.17 release tag failed MCP
Registry validation because the README didn't carry the
mcp-name identifier the registry validator now requires; (2) the
client-detection refactor in v0.4.16/v0.4.17 had two remaining
false-positive cases (Continue.dev and JetBrains Junie) where
detection counted the host IDE as installation evidence
instead of the specific extension/plugin. Both are
behaviour changes for mcp-aemps install — clients that pre-v0.5
showed up as "detected" when they actually weren't installed will
now correctly show up as "not detected" and skip. Bundled into a
MINOR rather than yet another PATCH per maintainer direction.
Added
mcp-name: io.github.romanpert/mcp-aempsmarker in both
README.md and README.en.md (HTML comment near the title plus a
visible footer line). Required by the MCP Registry publish
endpoint for ownership validation; v0.4.17'srelease.ymlMCP
Registry job failed with HTTP 400 without it.
Fixed
- Continue.dev detection now requires the actual extension to
be installed, not just any host IDE. v0.4.16 detection
treated the presence of~/.vscode/extensions/,
~/.cursor/extensions/, etc. as evidence of Continue.dev — but
those directories belong to the host IDE, not Continue. v0.5.0
globs the extensions directories for the stable prefix
continue.continue-*(lowercased on disk; version suffix
varies). False-positive eliminated. - JetBrains Junie detection now requires Junie-only artifacts.
v0.4.16 detection treated~/.config/JetBrains/(or per-OS
equivalents) as evidence of Junie — but that directory is the
config root for any JetBrains IDE, not specifically Junie.
v0.5.0 instead checks for~/.junie/AGENTS.mdand
~/.junie/.aiignore, which are created by Junie itself.
mcp-aemps writes only~/.junie/mcp.jsonso the directory
itself remains an invalid signal. - Claude Desktop on Linux returns empty detection paths
(was: made-up/snap/claude-desktop/~/.local/share/...
desktop-file paths that never existed in any official build).
Anthropic publishes Claude Desktop only for Windows + macOS;
pretending Linux paths exist created a quiet inconsistency. - Antigravity detection adds Electron app-data telltales
(%APPDATA%\Antigravity\on Windows,
~/Library/Application Support/Antigravity/on macOS,
~/.config/Antigravity/on Linux). Pre-v0.5 only checked the
binary path, which missed any user who downloaded but had not
yet launched the app. - VS Code system-installer path added
(%PROGRAMFILES%\Microsoft VS Code\Code.exe) — pre-v0.5 only
checked the User installer path under%LOCALAPPDATA%. - Zed winget install path added (
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Zed\Zed.exe,
noPrograms\subdir — winget puts it directly under the Zed
parent). Pre-v0.5 only matched the olderPrograms\Zed\
installer pattern. - Cursor / Windsurf Linux telltales added
(~/.config/Cursor/,~/.codeium/windsurf/machine_uuid) for
AppImage installs that don't enforce a fixed binary path. - Codex CLI telltale
~/.codex/log/(the log directory
Codex creates) replaces the older single-file
~/.codex/logs_2.sqlitereference, which was specific to one
internal version. - Gemini CLI telltale paths removed — the official Gemini CLI
docs do not publish a stable filename for the auth credential
cache, so v0.4.17's guessedoauth_creds.json/
google_account_idpaths are dropped. Detection falls back to
geminion PATH only. False-negatives (user has Gemini CLI
butgeminiis not on PATH) are acceptable; false-positives
from a guessed filename are not.
Internal
_app_glob_present(client_name)helper added alongside
_app_executables. Used for the small set of clients whose
canonical install artifact has a varying suffix (extension
version, plugin version) but a stable prefix.memory/reference_cli_install_paths.mdupdated with verified
source URLs for every client and the new detection rules. Use
it as the source of truth for future installer additions.
