Hi everyone,
I’m writing here because I suspect GitHub has been glitchy for a while. I’ve been trying to join the RomM discussion-tab for months, but never found a “New Discussion” button. If this thread belongs in the Discussions tab, please feel free to move it.
I’m looking for guidance on integrating RomM save‑sync with RetroArch. I use the Argosy app on my Android device, which automatically syncs saves for its built‑in emulators. I also noticed that if I instead use RetroArch on my Android handheld, it syncs the saves as well. Argosy can even sync standalone emulators savestates like Mupen, PPSSPP, Cemu, etc., to RomM and back, which is great! I don't know how it does it, but it seems to work. Saves from these are popping up on my RomM server.
Now I want to set up RetroArch on a Linux machine and need help pointing its saves to RomM in a way RomM understands. RomM seems to organize saves under a code‑based hierarchy. For example, with the Eden standalone on my Android device, the save lives at: /data/data/eden/nand/user/save, but when Argosy syncs the file there, it syncs to RomM as /romm/assets/users/<user‑ID>/saves/switch/<a-bunch-of-folders-with-codes>/eden/<game>.zip
How do others configure RetroArch on Linux to sync saves with RomM using this structure? I am trying to avoid using Syncthing. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!
