@ronalddev-arch ronalddev-arch released this 08 Oct 01:45

First public beta of AudioSwitch: an automatic audio device switcher for Windows that keeps SteelSeries Sonar (GG) and the Windows default audio device in step, and also works without SteelSeries.

Install

Download AudioSwitch-win-Setup.exe below and run it. It installs for your user only (no admin rights) and needs no .NET installation. A short first-run setup helps you pick your devices.

The installer isn't code-signed yet. If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC", click More info → Run anyway.

What's in it

  • A popup when a device connects (Bluetooth headphones or speakers, or your SteelSeries headset powering on), and an automatic fallback when the device in use goes away.
  • Per-device microphone rules, plus Windows default and communications devices per device.
  • SteelSeries Sonar classic and stream mode. Without SteelSeries, it switches the Windows default devices.
  • A settings window with a device picker, and an update check: you're told about new versions, and nothing is installed until you click.

Beta notes

  • Verified with SteelSeries GG 121.0.0 / Sonar 1.104.0.0 and the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless on Windows 10 22H2. Other SteelSeries wireless headsets should work, but are untested.
  • Sonar stream mode and the mode without SteelSeries (Windows-only) are new and less tested. Bug reports are welcome; see "How do I report a bug?" in the README.
