  • Artist-Centric Browsing: A New Way to Explore Your Library

    • Automatic Artist Detection: ViveStream now automatically identifies and saves artist information for every video you download. It intelligently uses specific artist tags from the metadata, and falls back to the channel name, ensuring every video is categorized.
    • New "Artists" Page: A new "Artists" tab is now in the sidebar. This page presents a beautiful grid of all the unique artists in your library, complete with their thumbnails and video counts.
    • Dedicated Artist Detail Pages: Clicking on any artist takes you to a dedicated page showcasing their name, image, and a full grid of all their videos in your collection.
    • Enhanced Player UI: The player and "Up Next" list now prioritize showing the artist's name instead of just the channel uploader, providing a more consistent and music-focused experience.

  • Dynamic Context-Aware Search

    • One Search Bar, Many Talents: The main search bar is no longer just for videos. It now intelligently adapts to whatever page you are on.
    • Real-Time Filtering: Search results appear instantly as you type, filtering the content of the current view.
      • On the Home or Favorites page, it searches your videos.
      • On the Playlists page, it searches your playlists by name.
      • On the new Artists page, it searches your artists by name.
    • Intelligent Placeholders: The search bar's placeholder text now dynamically updates (e.g., "Search videos...", "Search artists...") to give you clear context on what you're searching for.

🛠️ Build & Installation Fixes

  • [CRITICAL] Seamless Application Upgrades: Fixed a critical installer issue where new versions would install as a separate program instead of upgrading the existing one. ViveStream will now correctly update in-place, ensuring you always have a single, up-to-date installation.
  • Polished Installer UI: The setup wizard has been cleaned up. The version number is no longer displayed in the window title or on the welcome screen, providing a more professional and streamlined installation experience. The version number is still correctly registered in the Windows Control Panel.
  • Installer Build Reliability: Resolved a build-time error related to incompatible installer directives, making the build process more stable and reliable across different environments.

📝 Notes from the Developer

If version 2.0.0 was about building a solid foundation, version 2.1.0 is about building a beautiful house on top of it. The goal of ViveStream is to be the best place to not only store your offline media, but to enjoy and rediscover it. The new Artists feature is a massive step in that direction, turning your flat list of downloads into a browsable collection.

The new dynamic search bar is a quality-of-life improvement I'm particularly proud of—it makes the whole app feel smarter and more responsive to your needs. I also want to extend my apologies for the installer issues in previous versions; these have now been fully corrected to provide the smooth experience you expect.
