nycOpenData is an R package providing streamlined access to more than 2,000 datasets available through the NYC Open Data portal. The package supports dataset discovery and retrieval through a consistent interface, including filtering, ordering, date ranges, automatic type conversion, and column-name cleaning.
This release represents the version of nycOpenData archived in connection with its publication in the Journal of Open Source Software (JOSS) and follows completion of the rOpenSci software peer-review process.
The package is part of The Open Data Lab's broader effort to make public data easier to access and use for research, education, and public-facing data projects.
