Mondó 0.1.0

Released on September 8, 2026.

Mondó 0.1.0 is the first public prototype of a focused GTK 4/libadwaita
application for sending local files over Bluetooth from GNOME.

Pre-release notice: This version is experimental and may be unstable.
Bluetooth interoperability can vary between devices, firmware versions, and
BlueZ releases.

Features

  • Send up to 256 readable local files sequentially through one Bluetooth Object
    Push (OPP) session.
  • List paired, unblocked devices that advertise OPP support.
  • Display progress for the complete batch.
  • Retry pending files without resending files already confirmed as delivered.
  • Cancel active transfers, confirm before closing during one, and detect transfers
    that stop making progress.
  • Save one favorite device and send to it from the Nautilus context menu after an
    explicit confirmation.
  • Request that the desktop session prevent automatic suspension during a
    transfer.
  • Install natively for the current user with application icons, D-Bus activation,
    and Nautilus integration.

Validated Environment

  • Fedora Workstation 44
  • GNOME 50.4
  • Native installation under ~/.local

Known Limitations

  • This is an early prototype and may be unstable.
  • Native installation is the only supported installation method. The Flatpak
    manifest is experimental.
  • Mondó does not manage Bluetooth adapters, discovery, pairing, trust settings,
    or BlueZ updates.
  • Only paired, unblocked devices that advertise OPP support are listed.
  • Directories and remote files are not supported.
  • Interrupted files restart from the beginning. A retry can create a duplicate if
the receiving device accepted a file but its delivery confirmation was lost.
  • Compatibility depends on the receiving device's firmware and OPP
    implementation.

Installation, testing, recovery, and uninstallation instructions are available
in the project README.
