General Release

The packet shell has been out and stable for a while now, so it's time to call it version 1.0.0.

New Features

Message PDFs are generated by writing text directly to the PDF, rather than by filling in form fields. That allows for better text layout control, proper text wrapping, warnings when text doesn't fit in the area provided, etc. The resulting PDFs are flattened (i.e., not editable), which is more appropriate for a transmitted message.

The shell now properly handles messages sent to multiple recipients. The list command shows one line for each recipient, with the delivery status to that recipient.

The new command has a --bulletin (or -b) option to allow sending bulletin messages. Bulletins are essentially the same as any other message except that they do not encode their message ID or handling order on the subject line, and no delivery receipts are expected for them.

The message numbering for received and sent messages can now be separate. Incoming messages are numbered according to the setting in the incident configuration. Outgoing messages default to the numbering used in the previous outgoing message, which may be in the same or a different range.

This version adds support for AHFacStat versions 2.4 and 2.6.

Bug Fixes

Validation of PackItForms version numbers now allows numbers with an alphabetic suffix, e.g. 3.15a.

An error was fixed that caused message comparisons to crash in some cases when the messages were of different form versions.

An error was fixed in the highlighting of text differences in compared messages.
