Install

Mac app (macOS 14 or later): download mdEditDiff-macOS.zip below, unzip it, and drag mdEditDiff.app into Applications. The app isn't notarized yet, so the first time macOS says it "could not verify" the app: click Done, then open System Settings > Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway (or run xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/mdEditDiff.app).

Command-line tool and MCP server (Node.js 20 or later):

npm install -g mdeditdiff@0.5.3
claude mcp add mdeditdiff -- mdeditdiff mcp   # optional: connect it to Claude Code

Install both to get change tracking in the app. Docs: https://github.com/roy-vinay/mdeditdiff#readme

  • ← and → turn pages, like Preview: one page at a time, or a pair at a time in the two-page view. They still move the cursor while you type (in Find or a note), Shift+arrow still extends a selection, and when you've zoomed in wider than the window they scroll sideways as before.
