2.28.0

  • best-effort layout when T-SQL parsing or supported layout fails; use -Strict to refuse instead. diagnostics stay off formatted stdout.
  • align JOIN/APPLY with the base table, omit INNER, expand CASE, and keep consecutive CTEs together.
  • align the first projection in tolerant output, normalize recognized function names, and leave quoted names and values intact.
  • worked examples and regression tests updated to match.

best-effort output is not validated SQL and does not translate dialects. file, dependency and compiler failures remain errors.

97 checks pass on Windows, macOS and Linux. closes #2.

@royashbrook royashbrook released this 15 Sep 23:45

First public release of the roy-sql skill and local T-SQL formatter.

  • SQL house-style instructions, plain-language guide and worked examples.
  • Readable PowerShell and C# formatter with a pinned Microsoft ScriptDOM dependency.
  • Tight CONTAINS/FREETEXT parentheses and lowercase ISNUMERIC, preserving qualified function names.
  • 57 formatter checks and 9 CLI checks pass cold on Windows, macOS and Linux.
  • SELECT-focused coverage. Unsupported statements refuse with no partial SQL. No database connection, SQL execution or input-file modification.

Install the skill folder in your agent's skill directory, or clone the repository and follow the README to run the formatter. PowerShell 7 is required only for the mechanical helper.

MIT licensed. No dependency binary is bundled.
