Added

  • One plan per topic: Settings › Topics shows what you see (nothing, notification, popup, both), when a popup closes (Stays, 5 s … 5 min) and which sound plays — one plan for every priority and, behind one switch (Handle important messages differently), a second one for important messages (priority 4 and up, or urgent only); the five-row table appears only for a plan that fits neither, with a one-click way back (Use simple settings…).
  • A plugin card (Alert Card, ACK Button, …) can be a topic's popup style, with its parameters in the topic editor.
  • The topic editor lists the rules that also apply to the topic, marked Also or Instead; the sidebar sums up each topic's plan.
  • Rules say Also do the actions below or Instead of the topic's plan, and the rule list shows each rule's topics.
  • Save (and Remove, Send Test Message) stay pinned below the Topics and Rules editors.
  • Plugins say what each one adds (popup card, rule action, rule condition).

Changed

  • New topics start with one plan for every priority (no automatic "urgent stays" or Basso/Glass sounds). Switching on Handle important messages differently pre-fills priority 4–5 with Stays (and Basso, if no sound is set).
  • config.json topic shape: alerts (per priority) and popup as a style (level, position, showCopy, showOpen, optional card). Topics with the 1.3 keys are still read and are rewritten in the new shape on the next save.
  • The first launch of 1.4 folds rules that only set a priority band's popup, sound or notification into the topic plans, once. The previous files are kept as config.pre-1.4.json and rules.pre-1.4.json and one notification says how many rules moved. Every other rule is kept as it was. To go back to 1.3.1, restore those two files.
  • A rule's Show popup without its own timeout uses the topic plan's Close the popup after for that priority; a rule popup with its own timeout no longer stays for urgent messages (1.3 applied the topic's "urgent stays" to it).
  • The "N messages while you were away" summary now comes for every topic whose plan shows anything (notification, popup or card), not only for topics with notifications on; a topic set to Nothing for every priority stays quiet.
  • Quiet hours are named Quiet hours for sending and say that incoming messages are not affected.
  • The rule action builtin.ignore is shown as Skip the topic's plan (same id).
  • Settings and the popup follow the house style of the other Mac apps: sidebars with status dots and a caption (sign-in kind for servers), Save and Remove pinned below every editor, rule conditions and actions as cards (Match ALL / ANY, ⓘ for each step's description, topics as a checkbox grid), plugin source and "Unverified" pills, a centred About tab with the version, Pause notifications as one menu, quiet-hours times that save as soon as both are valid. The popup is 520 pt wide with larger title and buttons, tags as pills and a More menu; History has alternating rows.

Fixed

  • Removing a topic switches off a rule that was limited to that topic only, instead of turning it into an "Any topic" rule.

Removed

  • notify, soundOverride and popup.enabled / timeoutSec / stickyForUrgent / soundByPriority are no longer written to new config files (they are still read).

v1.3.1

Releases are now signed with a stable identity, so permissions survive future updates. After this one update you may need to re-allow notifications once.

NtfyBar can now send, not only receive.

  • Send Clipboard to “…” (menu): sends the copied files (one message each, up to 20), a copied picture, or the text to the topic you last sent to.
  • Publish… (menu): a window with topic, title, tags, priority, a message and files (Add… or drop from Finder).
  • Clipboard-friendly: short text gets a Copy button in the ntfy phone app, long text goes byte-exact as clip.txt, files over 100 MB are refused before upload, and every message carries the sender tag ntfybar-mac first so other devices can ignore their own echo.
  • Long text received as clip.txt / attachment.txt on a copy or download topic is copied and shown as text, not as a file.
  • Signed with a stable identity (no more ad-hoc signature).

v1.2.0

  • Attachment buttons: every popup with an attachment gets Copy file (images paste as pictures, other files paste in Finder), Download (to ~/Downloads/NtfyBar) and Open folder.
  • Per-topic download and copy: two new topic options download attachments on arrival and copy the file to the clipboard. With text copy on too, the text is copied first and the file a second later, so clipboard managers keep both.
  • Safe by default: your server sign-in is sent only to that server, never to external attachment links; automatic downloads skip files over 100 MB.

  • Config edits apply live: changes to config.json or rules.json made outside the app (an editor, a script, an agent) take effect within 2 seconds, no restart. A file that isn't valid JSON is ignored and your running settings stay.
  • Remove Topic… / Remove Server… / Remove Rule… buttons in their editors.
  • Bigger Settings window, now resizable.

New built-in plugins (off until you enable them in Settings › Plugins, then use them in a rule):

  • Alert Card — a big alert card with Acknowledge and Snooze N min (the ntfy server re-sends it later), optional auto-dismiss, position and over-full-screen choice, and a "3rd time today" badge. Urgent alerts always stay.
  • Repeat & Burst — conditions "not seen recently" (calm flapping alerts) and "burst" (≥ N messages in M minutes).
  • Extract — copy the part of a message a regex matches, or open it in a link template.
  • JSON Fields 1.1 — new "JSON field changed" condition.

Marketplace examples: Time Window and Reply Buttons (Settings › Plugins › Available).

Plugin API 1.1: popups choose position/level, plugins can declare choice parameters, ntfy.publish accepts delay for scheduled messages.
