• Added: VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) and ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode)
  support for DP-to-HDMI PCON adapters — enables 4K120 VRR over HDMI
  on displays like Samsung QN80A and LG C3 OLED when using a DP-to-HDMI
  cable with a PCON chip (e.g. CH7218). The patched amdgpu.ko now
  includes:
  • Software AMD VSDB parsing fallback (parse_amd_vsdb_cea_direct):
    parses the AMD Vendor Specific Data Block directly from the CEA
    extension block without relying on DMUB firmware, so FreeSync
    capabilities are detected even when the DMUB parser fails (common
    with PCON HDMI connections).
  • LFC-aware VRR range extending (extend_range_from_vsdb):
    replaces the old compare_ranges logic. Always extends the upper
    refresh rate limit, but only extends the lower limit when the
    current minimum disables LFC (Low Framerate Compensation), avoiding
    blanking on displays where the manufacturer adjusted VRR min after
    release.
  • ALLM via DP (bc250-allm-via-dp.patch): forces
    content_type=GAME on the display stream when the sink reports
    ALLM support in its EDID, letting the PCON generate HF-VSIF
    autonomously to trigger the TV's Game Mode.
• Added: Toolkit now prompts to add amdgpu.freesync_pcon_allow_all=1
  to the GRUB command line after installing the audio fix (or combined
  fix), and offers to remove it on revert. This kernel parameter is
  required for VRR to work over PCON adapters.
• Removed: Legacy EDID patching system (patch_edid_vrr.py) and all
  related manual EDID firmware injection. The toolkit now cleans up any
  existing EDID firmware binaries (/lib/firmware/edid/*.bin) and
  drm.edid_firmware= GRUB entries at the start of the audio fix
  install, ensuring the display's native EDID is used. This works
  for any TV brand (Samsung, LG, Sony, etc.).
• Note: Users who previously had VRR issues with DP-to-HDMI PCON
  cables (see bazzite#4532)
  should update their PCON adapter firmware and reinstall the audio fix.
  The VRR range is now read correctly from the native EDID (e.g.
  VRRmin 40 Hz – VRRmax 120 Hz on LG C3).
