ArduDeck Beta 1.1
Beta 1 taught ArduDeck to fly the fleet. Beta 1.1 rebuilds the place you fly it from: the map is the cockpit now, with the instruments living on it. Around that cockpit: coverage plans that split themselves across a swarm, a panorama survey mode, a flight preview, a HUD on your radio's own screen, experimental PX4 support, and the Hangar, where optional cargo extends the app. Many fixes came straight from pilots at DroneDays 2026.
- The map is the main telemetry panel now, with instruments docked directly on it: draggable, resizable gauges that stay legible over satellite imagery
- Instrument catalog with live-preview cards and per-instrument hide; chrome collapses to a clean screen
- Split screens: map beside camera, controls beside mission, in resizable side-by-side layouts, with instrument variations and a reworked telemetry screen
- Distribute to fleet: one click splits a coverage plan into per-vehicle missions balanced by actual path length, each complete with its own takeoff, speed, camera trigger, and RTL, colored by vehicle identity
- Start missions: uploads every vehicle's assigned mission and starts the whole fleet in AUTO, next to Take off all in Fleet Ops
- Per-group vehicle assignment survives engine restarts; fly-here guided targets are tracked per vehicle, and a rejected command now tells you it was rejected instead of failing silently
- Configurable GCS MAVLink system ID so several ground stations can share vehicles without corrupting parameter and mission transfers
- Panorama capture: draw the subject as a spline with tangent-handle editing; ArduDeck computes the standoff flight path, camera headings, photo spacing, and rate-spread yaw commands for a smooth camera pan
- Flight Preview: play any mission or group on the map before upload, with a drone gizmo, live camera cone modeling yaw/ROI commands, and a scrubbable timeline
- Surveyed points: paste RTK pole measurements (labels, decimal commas, CSV, free-form) as numbered markers or a connected boundary, and plan a survey from it
- Coverage engine plans: plain-language zone legend, per-zone colors, smoother transits, and actionable geometry validation
- Area Editor: merge overlapping shapes, autosave, guide polygons on the mission map, easier control points
- Plane-aware turn radius suggestions, 1 m minimum planning altitude, copy coordinates from the waypoint editor
Your radio becomes a second screen

- EdgeTX HUD widget: attitude, battery, GPS, flight mode, and link health on the transmitter's own display, drawn in ArduDeck's visual language from the telemetry the radio already receives
- A tile layout engine adapts the HUD to the radio: full rendering on color screens, high-contrast rendering on sunlight-readable transflective black-and-white screens, across common screen geometries
- Setup from ArduDeck's Radio tab, with a preview that models your radio's actual screen
- One voice for the whole operation: the same voice announces modes, warnings, and events in the app and from the radio, with a mute toggle in the app header
- ArduDeck now takes cargo: optional add-ons that load straight into the app, so the core stays lean and the extras stay one click away
- The Hangar is right inside the app: browse cargo, add what fits how you fly, and updates flow from there
- The Hangar opens with four cargos: Pre-Flight Weather Briefing (wind and gusts aloft, precipitation, flight windows, Kp geomagnetic forecast for RTK and compass confidence, and WMM2025 declination for a map-picked site), Fleet Vault (version-controlled parameter snapshots, missions, and survey areas with history, diff, and restore, plus optional online backup), Mission Library (save whole plans with groups and surveys intact, browse with map previews, attach flight logs), and Claude Advisor (read-only Claude on your own Anthropic API key, answering questions from live vehicle parameters and telemetry)
- Automatic detection with firmware-aware UI: PX4 flight modes decoded and commandable, prearm and preflight hints, calibration flows
- Configuration tabs: airframe picker, actuator outputs, RC and flight-mode slots, battery, safety and failsafes, with bundled PX4 parameter metadata and correct parameter typing
- PX4 PID tuning schemes for multicopter and fixed wing
- ULog: native parser, Log Explorer, health checks, map flight trace, format-aware AI analysis
- In-app PX4 SITL using PX4's built-in SIH simulator, plus PX4 mission compatibility and auto-takeoff handling
Connections and firmware
- NTRIP RTK corrections
- Firmware board list sourced live from the ArduPilot server: every published target selectable, real target names on every row; Intel HEX flashing and SiK radio recovery
- Reconnect resilience: a vehicle rebooting mid-session no longer strands the app on a spinner
- Multi-battery monitoring with per-battery display
- H.265 and misdeclared camera streams transcoded for WebRTC playback; USB transmitter stand-in for SITL and config screens
Reliability and fixes
- MAVLink v2 zero-truncation decode fixes: extended messages (MISSION_CURRENT, FENCE_STATUS, RADIO_STATUS and others) no longer freeze or vanish; length checks removed in favor of CRC validation
- A truncated parameter download is now rejected and recovered instead of silently accepted as complete
- Log download speed fixed; log list newest-first with filtering and compact sections
- SITL spawn location picked on a map with automatic ground elevation
- Dialogs are opaque in dark mode; macOS notarization retries; a long list of DroneDays-sourced fixes
