Arya 1.0.5
Arya 1.0.5 adds Google Antigravity as an editing assistant.
- Open Settings → AI and accounts → Google Antigravity, sign in, then choose a model in Manual mode.
- Uses the official Antigravity CLI (1.4.6 or newer) with a separate Arya sign-in profile. Install the CLI using Google's official instructions first.
- Preview, Apply, Undo, project tools and rendered frames work through the restricted local companion. iPhone and iPad use the paired Mac companion.
- Retired personal Gemini CLI sign-in now points users toward Antigravity.
- Extra AI credits remain disabled. Your provider's quota and subscription limits still apply.
The DMG supports Apple silicon and Intel Macs running macOS 14 or newer. It is signed, notarized and stapled. Drag Arya into Applications to install or replace an earlier version.
Validation includes a real signed-in edit with Preview/Apply/Undo and frame reading, native protocol execution, the browser suite, native focused tests and an iPhone/iPad simulator build. Google's exhausted account quota stopped the richer native follow-up test; the offline native composition fixture passed.
Arya 1.0.4
Arya 1.0.4 fixes assistant helper startup in the Mac app.
The 1.0.3 installer omitted a module needed by the companion, which could stop all assistant providers from connecting. Arya now installs the complete companion dependency set. An executable regression test checks the app's installer and the installed companion's imports in both local verification and CI.
Download Arya-1.0.4.dmg for macOS 14 or later, on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. It is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple.
To update, quit Arya, open the disk image and drag Arya to Applications. Open the new version, then choose Settings → Assistant → Restart helper and reconnect.
Google Gemini remains a beta connection and needs a Google sign-in through Gemini CLI.

Google Gemini (beta)
- Choose Google Gemini (beta) under Other connections in Assistant settings. It uses your own Google account through Gemini CLI. Arya includes no AI credits.
- Sign in once by running
geminiin Terminal and choosing Sign in with Google, then refresh status in Arya. - Each run is limited to Arya's two editing tools. Shell commands, file writes and web access are blocked, and a blocked tool call stops the run instead of reporting it done.
- Arya never switches you to paid usage. When your Google quota runs out, Arya says so.
- The model list is fixed from Google's documentation, so a preview model may not be available on every account. Gemini is Manual only in the Mac app. It is a beta: Claude Code and Codex remain the suggested choices.
Assistant
- One click picks a provider that is signed in and ready.
- Closing Settings no longer drops an unsaved model choice. Arya asks you to save or discard.
- Claude Code's settings say plainly that it uses your account's default model. You can type an alias such as
sonnetoropus. - Stop keeps the part of the reply that already arrived.
- The preview message updates after you apply, discard or undo, and preview rows name the track kind.
- The helper no longer prints its pairing token in Terminal, and Mac Settings clears the "wait for the secure connection" hint once the helper is paired.
- Setup buttons have accessibility labels.
Other fixes
- Figma errors return the right status instead of a generic server error, so the message says what went wrong.
- Exported LUTs are named "Arya look" by default.

Arya 1.0.2
Arya 1.0.2 fixes the assistant in the Mac app. In 1.0.1 the assistant helper could not start, so Claude Code and Codex could not connect. This release also fixes the hosted browser editor's styling and tightens wording across the app, site and docs.

Assistant
- "Turn on the assistant" and "Sign in" now open the helper in Terminal. In 1.0.1 macOS blocked the helper script because the sandboxed app had written it, so nothing happened.
- The first time, macOS asks whether Arya may control Terminal. Click Allow. If you clicked Don't Allow, Arya tells you where to turn it on: System Settings > Privacy & Security > Automation.
- Settings errors now show where you can see them, and stale help text is fixed.
Editor
- Imported media shows its file name instead of a storage path.
- Browse Figma frames stays disabled until a project is open.
- Messages that still said "Reel" now say "Arya".
Hosted browser editor and website
- The hosted editor at /editor/ now loads all of its stylesheets. Some panels were unstyled in 1.0.1.
- The site and docs now describe exactly what the hosted editor and transcription can do.
Arya is free and MIT licensed. Report bugs and request features in Issues, and ask questions in Discussions.
Arya 1.0.1
Arya 1.0.1 makes the assistant and Figma easier to set up, fixes small layout problems in the editor, and corrects what the website and README say each edition can do.

Assistant
- Settings walks you through three steps: choose Claude Code or Codex, sign in, turn the assistant on. It says which step is missing.
- If you type a request before an assistant is set up, Arya keeps your draft and tells you what to do, instead of doing nothing.
- Stop now cancels a request even while it is still being handed to the assistant.
- After you apply a previewed change, the chat shows it as a committed edit. Undo marks it as undone.
- In the Mac app, the reply streams in as it is written, and a stale helper reconnects instead of failing.
- The hosted browser editor says plainly that the assistant needs the Mac app or the local editor.
Figma
- Figma has its own tab in Settings. It explains which token permissions to grant and where the token is stored.
- Cancelling Figma sign-in in the Mac app no longer shows an error.
- If you use the Figma MCP server in Claude Code, run
/reeland ask Claude to import a frame.
Editor
- The viewer toolbar stays on one row in narrow windows, and inspector fields stack before their values get cut off.
- Segmented controls show a focus ring, and media cards can be reached with the keyboard.
- The start screen is centered on iPad and iPhone.
Website and docs
- The home page is redesigned around a single table of what works in the Mac app, the local browser editor and the hosted browser editor.
- The download page no longer scrolls sideways on phones, and every tap target is at least 44 points.
- The privacy page is a dated policy: Arya has no analytics or telemetry.
- Corrected claims: the local browser editor exports ProRes 4444 and PNG with alpha and can export a CMX 3600 EDL; the hosted editor exports H.264, HEVC, WAV and AAC.

Arya 1.0.0
The first public release of Arya, an open-source video and motion editor you can direct.
Cut, grade, animate, mix and make shorts in one project. Edit by hand on a timeline, or tell an AI assistant what should change. The assistant edits the same project you do, so every change is an ordinary edit you can see, adjust and undo.

Known limits
- iPhone and iPad builds are not on the App Store yet.
- The Mac app's native interface does not expose every feature of the browser editor yet.
- Public Figma sign-in is not available. Import works with your own Figma access token or through the Figma MCP server.
- Arya has no automatic updater. To update, replace the app in Applications with a newer release.
