Porthop is now Newport

A new name for your remote workspace. This release brings Newport branding to the desktop app and remote agent, with migration for saved servers, credentials, preferences, and integration setup.

Improvements

• Clipboard and browser sharing reconnect after interrupted SSH connections.
• Better handling of SSH agent approvals and temporary connection failures.
• More reliable connection status on Windows, including a fix for equal clock readings overwriting a successful connection.
• Refreshed user guides and README.

• macOS 14+ / Apple silicon: Newport-0.2.4-macos-arm64.zip. Developer ID signed and notarized.
• Windows ARM64: Newport-0.2.4-windows-aarch64-setup.exe.
• Windows Intel/AMD: Newport-0.2.4-windows-x86_64-setup.exe.

Windows support is experimental. Windows installers are not Authenticode-signed; all updater packages have verified update signatures.

Upgrading from Porthop

Use Settings → Updates, or install the matching download. Keep your existing app data. Restarting disconnects active sessions and cancels transfers.

Validation

All CI checks passed. The Mac updater package was tested over a copy of Porthop 0.2.3. Both Windows installers passed local install/uninstall checks.

The updater archive, signature, and latest.json support future automatic updates. Download verification, app replacement, and restart were tested using an isolated older-version test build and this exact release archive.
