RustForge 1.1.0 — the roadmap is complete

Phases 2 and 3 from docs/roadmap-production-ready.md, on top of 1.0.0's release-readiness work (adoption verification, Miri, machine-readable reports).

Evaluation & AI-readiness (Phase 2)

  • Code-under-test evaluation harness — examples/eval-harness/ + examples/sample-candidate/: a fixed Candidate contract with golden, property, and compile-fail tests, evaluated against any external implementation via just eval <path>. Both crates are detached standalone workspaces — the default cargo test --workspace stays fast and dependency-light.
  • Differential-testing helpers — core_tests::differential::assert_impls_agree (fixed inputs) and fuzz_tests::differential::assert_impls_agree (proptest-generated inputs, fuzz feature): prove two implementations agree instead of trusting it.
  • Mutation-testing polish — just mutants-crate / mutants-file / mutants-diff scoping recipes, plus a documented opt-in soft-reporting pattern. Still exploratory — no kill-rate gate anywhere.

Breadth & niceties (Phase 3)

  • const/macro testing examples — static assertions (const _: () = assert!(...)) that fail the build, and parse_cases!, a case-table macro with a helpful compile_error! fallback and a trybuild fixture.
  • Domain starter examples — examples/parser-starter/ (arithmetic evaluator), examples/async-service-starter/ (tokio key-value store), examples/cli-starter/ (wc-style CLI with --json output), each a detached standalone workspace.
  • Quality signals (opt-in) — just bloat / bloat-json / size / timings.
  • AI test-generation aids — docs/ai-test-generation.md (checklist + fill-in templates), plus "Minimal adoption" and test-promotion guidance in the docs.

Verification

The full 15-job CI pipeline is green: adoption-path verification, MSRV (1.75), Miri UB detection, loom, trybuild, cargo-hack feature powerset, minimal-versions, reports, and the complete stable/beta/nightly × ubuntu/windows/macos/linux-arm64 test matrix. 64 tests pass across all features. Every command was verified against real execution — which caught (and fixed) two CI regressions before release: a liquid-substitution failure in cargo generate and a rustdoc 1.75 doctest-wrapping quirk.

Upgrade notes

Purely additive — no breaking changes. See the CHANGELOG for the complete list.
