Username conversation

I'm curious to see what people think of my GitHub Username; rob mentioned last night on his stream that using 'GamerTags' can be unprofessional. I've had this GitHub account for a very long time and the majority of all my online presence is behind this Username (this includes gaming).
I am NOT against creating a new account to create a more professional outlook for future employers. So some feedback on this would be appreciated.

I keep a completely separate gaming/informal online persona (this one) from my "real life" online persona. Only people fairly close know both of them, and it would take a near-impossible amount of sleuthing to connect the two otherwise. As for your name in particular, I see nothing wrong with it, and it has your first name and such in it as well.

What bellum128 said, since the GitHub username/tag actually reflects your actual name (which is seen as soon as someone opens your GH portfolio page) , you're good to go!
Let me add that, the only issue that can cause you to turn people away in a professional manner, is that if you use your GH account to store bizarre, "naivish", or offensive material and ideas which do not have any place in an IT professional GH profile and repos, whether they are related to video games or not. @ilyDaniel Those are my thoughts at least!

Thank you both for the feedback, I really appreciate it. That makes a lot of sense, especially regarding keeping the focus on the content of the repositories rather than the username itself.

I’ve decided I’ll continue using this account, making sure that everything on it reflects a professional standard going forward. Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts!
