Validation includes integrated gameplay/render checks and a packaged local co-op host/guest run. See the repository's build notes for evidence and test limits.
Wildforge 0.7.9 — Colour, choices and character
Brighter worlds, more satisfying upgrades and a little extra nonsense.
- Discover six colourful landmarks, from a giant bloom to a planet garden.
- Skill cards have detailed illustrations distinct from guns, animated reveals and different selection sounds for each power family.
- Reroll unwanted choices with coins: press R, Xbox Y or the button. Full weapon slots keep offering upgrades to your weapons.
- Boxes sneeze coins. Your third hand celebrates weapon upgrades with a thumbs-up.
- Fixed range upgrades, fast bullets missing enemies, weak thorns damage, frozen enemy attacks and selection focus when switching controls.
- Reduced repeated work in card generation, icons and previews.
The packaged build passed focused feature checks, a crowded six-biome run and co-op checks. Occasional hitches remain; this is still an alpha.
Extract the Windows ZIP and launch Wildforge.exe. Existing saves remain compatible.
Wildforge 0.7.8 — smoother crowds and enemy attack fixes
Crowds should feel much smoother, and enemies should spend their time chasing you instead of circling invisible obstacles.
- Fixed enemies avoiding the hero before they could attack.
- Fixed enemies treating walkable slopes as walls.
- Improved routes around scenery so crowds keep moving.
- Reduced repeated work in enemy movement, terrain and XP drops.
- Frozen enemies can no longer hurt you through contact.
The packaged build passed checks for all attack behaviours, crowd navigation and XP collection, plus a crowded run through all six biomes. Performance improved substantially on our test PC, but occasional hitches remain. This is still an alpha.
Download the Windows ZIP, extract the whole folder and launch Wildforge.exe. Your existing saves work with this update. No Steam account needed.
Megabonk Wildforge Mod 0.4.0 - combat and feedback (alpha)
Megabonk Wildforge Mod 0.4.0 — combat and feedback
- Wildforge weapons use source base damage and firing rates. The starting gun deals 15 damage and fires every 0.61 seconds before upgrades.
- Cards refresh equipped weapon stats. Tests compare real damage and cooldown before/after stacking and removal.
- Basic visible models for all 65 weapons, with low-poly gun fallback and original flower/turret models.
- Distinct procedural weapon/action sounds; recoil, growing/swaying flowers, turret aiming/tracers and expanding effect cues.
- Shift or right mouse: dash. R: deploy equipped turret. Ctrl in air: slam. On-screen controls and cooldown feedback.
- Turret-capacity cards now increase deployment capacity up to four; flowers and turrets use equipped weapon power.
- Descriptions state the actual stat, units and conditions instead of repeating a card title or showing confusing negative bonuses.
- Native attack dispatch and return pools support custom weapon identities.

Choose Play with friends → Host Party. Friends join before the host starts. Remote friends need a shared VPN or reachable public IP with UDP 29736 forwarded. There is no hosted relay or matchmaking service.
This is an unfinished development alpha. Packaged host/client checks passed for discovery, shared combat, party pauses and world travel. Public-internet router traversal, four separate physical PCs and all controller hardware combinations have not been verified. Community suggestions currently save locally; automatic online feedback sharing is planned.
