Bob's recognizable icon

This release replaces the generic SF Symbol with a dedicated monochrome Bob SVG, as requested during the OpenClip catalog review.

  • Square SVG viewBox with currentColor styling.
  • Original icon source, attribution, and GPL-3.0 license included. Integration code remains MIT.
  • Packaging includes the icon and all required notices.
  • Translation behavior is unchanged.

Download Bob.openclipext.zip and import it into OpenClip, or extract the Bob.openclipext folder into ~/.openclip/extensions/ and reload OpenClip.

The extension has been accepted into the official OpenClip catalog. The catalog's initial release uses version 1.0.0 with the same icon and implementation; this independent release is 1.0.1 because our earlier public 1.0.0 used the generic icon.

@s010s s010s released this 07 Sep 15:50

First stable release of Bob for OpenClip.

  • Translate selected text in Bob's window near the pointer.
  • Reuse existing Bob translation services and settings.
  • English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, French, and Japanese action labels.
  • MIT-licensed source; no extra runtime dependencies or translation API keys.

Download Bob.openclipext.zip, extract it into ~/.openclip/extensions/, and enable Translate with Bob in OpenClip. Allow OpenClip to control Bob when macOS prompts.

Requires OpenClip 1.3.1+ and the Mac App Store edition of Bob. Tested with Bob 1.20.0. Early local prototype users should remove local.openclip.bob before enabling this release to avoid duplicate buttons.

The extension sends text to Bob locally. Bob's configured translation providers may process the text online. Official catalog availability depends on upstream PR review.
