Quick Start

  1. Download plugin-manager-skill.zip from the Assets section below
  2. Extract to your Claude Code skills directory:
    • Windows: $USERPROFILE/.claude/skills/
    • Unix/Mac: ~/.claude/skills/
  3. Start asking Claude Code about your plugins!

What This Skill Does

This skill enables Claude Code to list, check, and manage installed plugins. Since the claude plugin list command doesn't exist, this skill provides direct access to plugin information from settings.json using Python scripts and jq commands.

Detailed Installation Instructions

Step 1: Download the Skill

Download plugin-manager-skill.zip from the Assets section below.

Step 2: Extract to Skills Directory

Windows (Git Bash/PowerShell):

unzip plugin-manager-skill.zip -d "$USERPROFILE/.claude/skills/"

Unix/Mac:

unzip plugin-manager-skill.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

Step 3: Verify Installation

Check that the skill directory exists:

# Windows
ls "$USERPROFILE/.claude/skills/plugin-manager"

# Unix/Mac
ls ~/.claude/skills/plugin-manager

Step 4: Start Using the Skill

The skill activates automatically when you ask Claude Code about plugins. Try:

  • "List all installed plugins"
  • "What plugins do I have?"
  • "Is markdown-linter-fixer installed?"
  • "Show me plugin status"
  • "How many plugins are enabled?"

What's Included

How It Works

The skill provides two methods for querying plugins:

  1. Python Script (Recommended): Cross-platform, handles paths automatically
  2. jq Commands: Advanced JSON queries with platform-specific syntax

No dependencies required - Python and jq are standard on most systems!
