Orbit Play 0.5.0 (Beta)
Orbit Play is a free, open-source Remote Play app for jailbroken PS5s on Mac, Windows and Linux. Stream without a PSN sign-in, including from offline PS5 accounts that have never been linked to PSN. Account setup, the account ID, the Remote Play PIN, pairing and streaming all happen in one desktop app, so there's no base64 account-ID conversion, PIN tool or separate activation payload to run.
A big update: play your PS5 away from home.
- Play away from home. Turn it on once at home under Console setup → Play away from home, and Orbit Play reaches your PS5 from anywhere with an internet connection: a friend's place, a hotel, your phone's hotspot. Start playing works as it does at home, with the pairing, playback settings and controls you already have.
- Set up from anywhere. Not at home? Someone at the PS5 opens the Orbit Play icon in the Media row, chooses Play away from home → Get a code, and you enter that code and the trust code under Console setup → Not at home? Set up from anywhere. Pairing works away from home too.
- Direct and encrypted, with Orbit Link. Orbit Link is the new connection built into Orbit Play and its PS5 helper: your computer and PS5 connect straight to each other, encrypted end to end. Orbit Play's server only introduces them; your stream never passes through it.
- No accounts, no router setup. There's nothing to sign up for and no ports to open. On networks that change ports, like phone hotspots, Orbit Play tries many ports at once for a few seconds until one gets through; that worked in our tests with the PS5 on a phone hotspot. Your computer keeps its access when the PS5 restarts its helper or changes networks.
- Packet loss in the stream stats. Press F in the player to see how much of the stream is lost on the way, next to the frame rate and decoder.
- Your own server, if you prefer. Run the server yourself and enter its address under Use your own Orbit Link server. Its source is in the source archive below.

Install on your computer
Choose the package for your computer from Assets: the macOS DMG for Apple Silicon Macs, the Windows x64 ZIP, or the Linux x64 or arm64 AppImage. Windows 11 on ARM uses the x64 ZIP. See the installation guide above for requirements and first-launch permissions.
You only need to download the desktop app. It includes the player and the 0.5.0 PS5 helper, with play away from home built in, and can start the helper for you. The standalone orbit-play-0.5.0-ps5.elf in Assets is optional, for those who prefer to load it themselves.
Start on your PS5
Load your jailbreak, open Payload Manager or enable an ELF loader, and stay logged into the PS5 profile you want to use. In Orbit Play, enter the console's IP address and choose Start helper on PS5. Enter the six-digit trust code shown on the PS5, then pair and play. If the profile needs it, Orbit Play offers account setup before pairing.
Orbit Play has been tested on PS5 firmware 13.60 with Relapse and Payload Manager v0.5.2. Other firmware may work but is untested. Play away from home has been tested with an Apple Silicon Mac, including set up from anywhere and a PS5 on a phone hotspot.
Play away from home
Turn it on at home, with your computer on the same network as the PS5: Console setup → Play away from home → Turn on. Away from home, open Orbit Play and choose Start playing. A computer that has never been home can use Set up from anywhere with a code from the PS5; the code works once, for 30 minutes.
- Keep the PS5 ready. It must stay on (not in Rest Mode), connected to the internet, with your jailbreak loaded and the Orbit Play helper running. Payload Manager's autostart starts the helper whenever the jailbreak loads. After a full PS5 restart, the jailbreak has to be loaded again at the console.
- Your home upload carries the stream. If the picture stutters or the packet loss stays above zero, lower the bitrate under Playback. At the default 10 Mbps, an hour of play uses about 4.5 GB, which matters on a phone hotspot.
- Some networks still block direct connections, such as some hotel, school and office networks. We're working on making this better.
To stop, choose Turn off at home. That ends play away from home for the PS5 and your computer.
Update from an earlier version
Stop your stream, quit Orbit Play and replace the computer app. Stop the old helper in Payload Manager, then choose Start helper on PS5 in the new app. Replacing the ELF file alone does not stop a running helper. If it cannot be stopped, fully restart the PS5 and reload the jailbreak first.
Your saved pairings, playback settings and controls remain. Enter the new trust code when asked, then turn on play away from home if you want it.
For account setup, we recommend a separate PS5 profile with no saves: creating a local account ID may make existing saves inaccessible. Account setup and save risks.
Orbit Play 0.4.0 (Beta)
Orbit Play is a free, open-source Remote Play app for jailbroken PS5s on Mac, Windows and Linux. Stream over your local network without a PSN sign-in, including from offline PS5 accounts that have never been linked to PSN. Account setup, the account ID, the Remote Play PIN, pairing and streaming all happen in one desktop app, so there's no base64 account-ID conversion, PIN tool or separate activation payload to run.
This update brings a sharper picture, controller feedback, a microphone and controls you set yourself.
- HEVC and hardware decoding. Choose HEVC under Playback for a sharper picture at the same bitrate. Orbit Play now decodes video on your computer's graphics hardware when it can: VideoToolbox on Mac, D3D11VA on Windows and Vulkan on Linux. When it can't, it decodes on the processor as before. H.264 stays the default.
- Rumble, adaptive triggers and haptics. Rumble and DualSense trigger resistance from your games now reach your controller. With a USB cable, haptics play on the DualSense itself; over Bluetooth they become rumble. Choose the rumble strength, or turn triggers off, under Playback.
- Microphone. Press M, the player's Mic button or the DualSense mute button to talk through your computer's default microphone. It starts muted in every stream.
- Touchpad swipes. Finger movement on the DualSense touchpad now reaches the PS5, not just the click.
- Your own keys, and mouse aiming. The new Controls screen lets you change every keyboard and mouse binding. Turn on Aim with the mouse to move the right stick with your mouse; F2 releases it.
- Login passcodes. If a PS5 profile has a login passcode, Orbit Play asks for it before the stream starts instead of timing out. It keeps the passcode only until you quit, so reconnects don't ask again.
- Update notice. Once a day, Orbit Play checks GitHub for a newer version and shows it on the main menu. Nothing about you or your PS5 is sent. Turn it off under Console setup → Profile & connection options.

Your saved pairings and playback settings remain. Enter the new trust code when asked. The new settings start with H.264, hardware decoding on, normal rumble, adaptive triggers and USB haptics on, and mouse aiming off.
On a Mac: macOS asks for microphone access the first time you turn the microphone on. For DualSense haptics over USB, set the controller's audio device to 4 channels in Audio MIDI Setup (Applications → Utilities); otherwise haptics play as rumble.
Local network only: keep your computer and PS5 on the same network, with the PS5 awake. For account setup, we recommend a separate PS5 profile with no saves: creating a local account ID may make existing saves inaccessible. Account setup and save risks.
Orbit Play 0.3.0 (Beta)
Orbit Play is a free, open-source Remote Play app for jailbroken PS5s on Mac, Windows and Linux. Stream over your local network without a PSN sign-in, including from offline PS5 accounts that have never been linked to PSN. Account setup, the account ID, the Remote Play PIN, pairing and streaming all happen in one desktop app, so there's no base64 account-ID conversion, PIN tool or separate activation payload to run.
Start the PS5 helper from your computer, without downloading or sending the ELF yourself.
- Start from Orbit Play. Open Console setup → Start helper on PS5 to send and launch the included helper through Payload Manager or your ELF loader.
- Pick up where you left off. If the matching helper is already running, Orbit Play connects to it. If an older version is running, it tells you to stop it before updating.
- Use your loader settings. Change the Payload Manager or ELF-loader port under Profile & connection options. Orbit Play remembers the ports after connecting.
- More reliable helper startup. Orbit Play checks whether the helper started when a loader's reply is interrupted, and no longer waits for the ELF loader to disconnect before connecting to the helper.

Orbit Play 0.2.0-beta.1
Orbit Play 0.2.0-beta.1
Project README · Screenshot walkthrough · Installation
The first public beta of Orbit Play, a Remote Play app for jailbroken PS5s on Mac, Windows and Linux. It plays over your local network with no PSN sign-in or internet connection, and can enable Remote Play for local PS5 accounts that have never been linked to PSN, creating a local account ID once you confirm. The player and the matching PS5 helper are included.
No PSN sign-in in Orbit Play. No manual account-ID lookup or conversion. No separate Remote Play PIN generator or Chiaki app. Run the helper on your jailbroken PS5, enter its address and six-digit trust code, then pair and play. Orbit Play handles the Remote Play PIN automatically.
This beta connects over your local network only. Keep the computer and PS5 on the same trusted network, with the console awake and the intended user logged in.
What's included
- Local pairing using the helper's six-digit trust code.
- Separate saved pairings for each console address and PS5 profile.
- H.264 video at 360p, 540p, 720p or 1080p, with 30 or 60 fps and 1–50 Mbps.
- DualSense controls over USB or Bluetooth, plus keyboard and mouse-button controls.
- Up to three automatic reconnect attempts after a network interruption.
- Account setup when a profile needs a local ID or Remote Play enabled, with reviewed changes and account-settings backups.
- Diagnostic exports that omit addresses, names, account IDs, PINs and pairing keys.
Account setup is experimental. We recommend a separate new PS5 profile with no saves. Creating a local ID may make existing saves inaccessible and requires your confirmation. Backups cover account settings, not games or saves. Recovery keeps an assigned ID to protect newer saves. Read account setup and recovery before using it.
Compatibility
You need a jailbroken PS5 and a payload loader to run the helper. This beta has been tested on PS5 firmware 13.60 with Relapse and Payload Manager v0.5.2, using Apple Silicon Macs, Windows x64 and Windows 11 on ARM (through x64 emulation), and Linux x64 and arm64 computers.
Testing covers pairing, video and audio, keyboard and USB/Bluetooth DualSense controls, reconnecting, helper restarts, profile switching, picture settings, and setup and recovery with a new profile.
On 13.60, you can pair after initial account setup without restarting the PS5. Other firmware may work but is untested; restart the PS5 after account setup, then reload the jailbreak and helper before pairing. After restoring account settings, restart the PS5 when the app asks, whatever the firmware.

First launch
- Mac: open the DMG and drag Orbit Play to Applications. This beta is not Apple-notarized. If macOS blocks a download you trust, open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway, then confirm Open.
- Windows: extract the whole ZIP and open
OrbitPlay.exe. The app is not code-signed. If SmartScreen warns about a download you trust, choose More info → Run anyway. Allow Orbit Play on private networks if Windows Firewall asks. - Linux: make the AppImage executable with
chmod +x, then run it. If FUSE is unavailable, use--appimage-extract-and-run.
Follow the installation guide and screenshot walkthrough for the complete steps.
Fixes
- Fixed an unexpected player exit shortly after connecting a DualSense.
- Controller buttons now release if the controller stops responding.
- Stopping a stream closes the player immediately.
- The console address stays in place while you type on the Find screen.
- Account setup and recovery are blocked while a stream is open.
- Automatic reconnect can retry when a network drop briefly makes the helper unreachable.
Unavailable in this beta
Internet remote access, wake from Rest Mode, HDR, microphone, haptics, PS5 login-passcode prompts, Intel Macs and account migration are not supported.
