Unofficial, noncommercial Neo Geo build based on the canonical Doom v1.9 shareware data. This release contains Episode 1 only (E1M1 through E1M9) and supersedes the July 24 native shareware build.
Changes
- Synchronized the sprite-renderer port with FrenkelS upstream
mainthrough1e52be3, including the latest temporary-allocation and code cleanup work. - Updated Neo Geo sprite-table generation for the current upstream actor definitions.
- Retained complete Episode 1 map content with ROM-backed actor streaming for larger maps.
- Retained runtime Low, Medium, and High sprite-microframebuffer detail modes, full Episode 1 music, and 52 digital sound effects.
- Refreshed the renderer documentation and emulator screenshots for the title screen, all three detail modes, options, and intermission.
- Added a repeatable stock-clock performance comparison against the original working sprite-renderer baseline. Across six fixed E1M2 cameras, current end-to-end throughput improved by 1.75% in Low, 3.16% in Medium, and 6.60% in High; the largest measured High-detail camera improved from 9.387 to 11.250 FPS (+19.84%).
The browser build remains available at sabino.pro/Doom64KB.
Package
The archive contains the native Neo Geo ROM set, MAME-style metadata, checksums, source provenance, GPL license, and the original Doom shareware README.
It does not include DOOM1.WAD, a Doom installer, an emulator, or a Neo Geo BIOS. Use a compatible user-supplied BIOS or open-source replacement.
The package was rebuilt from the canonical Doom v1.9 shareware IWAD, passed nested ZIP and embedded checksum validation, and booted successfully in GnGeo at stock emulated clocks. Physical Neo Geo hardware remains unverified.
