EDID Editor 0.5.0
Saving no longer truncates the file before writing it: the EDID goes to a new file that replaces the old one, so a failed save keeps the old data. Files, connected displays and compared EDIDs are read off the main thread, so a display the kernel is still probing no longer freezes the window. Fixes an undefined read of CTA-861 data block headers, memory leaked by data that fails to parse, and a star pressed on a mode an undo had just removed.
Requires GTK 4.22 and libadwaita 1.9. The sidebar and the content have their own header bars, the group menu opens with a long press, Ctrl+W closes the window and Ctrl+Q quits. Bytes and modelines use the monospace font chosen in settings, a field’s bytes are marked in the accent color, and the window subtitle shows the home folder as ~. Adds a symbolic icon, lists the application under Settings, and translates the byte view headings.
Fedora packages are published in Copr, openSUSE, Debian and Ubuntu packages on OBS, and the Arch Linux package in the AUR.
EDID Editor 0.4.0
Any detailed timing can be made the preferred one from a star on the Overview or the timing page, or with edid-editor-cli prefer: it becomes the first detailed timing, converted between DTD and DisplayID formats as needed, and a DisplayID preferred flag can be removed. The Overview lists every mode with the one Linux uses by default.
The timing page sets sync polarity, interlace and image size, and shows the pixel clock in MHz. A new timing copies an existing one. edid-editor-cli takes decimal numbers for bit fields, and a typed pixel clock is rounded instead of truncated.
