Requires Android 11 or newer. Download the APK and open it to install Aro. Existing installations retain their data when updating with the original signing key.

Changes

  • Spotify uses one in-app sign-in page, recovers saved sessions, and appears in Accounts without waiting for other providers.
  • Genre discovery uses the YouTube catalog, caches successful results, and offers loading placeholders and Retry.
  • Automatic update notifications and Settings → App updates select a newer, compatible APK directly from GitHub.
  • Issue and crash reporting target Aro’s enabled GitHub issue chooser.

Aro 1.0.0-rc.1 first Android phone release candidate.

Requires Android 11 or newer. Download the ARM64 APK for most modern phones. This is a development prerelease, not a stable compatibility guarantee for every device.

Includes local and online playback, YouTube Music discovery and radio queues, Spotify playlist imports with YouTube playback matching, cached home shelves, artist collections, and artwork-based colors.

Validation passed: GitHub build/unit/lint and API 30/36 emulator jobs; 237 debug and 237 release unit tests locally; signed online playback of Bhagwaan/KARMA beyond 20 seconds on the connected API 36 phone. APK signatures, ARM64 native alignment, and checksums verify.

The APKs were built from 8363fd3. Subsequent changes through 71bf8bd affect tests and documentation only; production sources and dependency versions are identical. Existing lint debt and remaining provider/device coverage are documented in RELEASE_CHECKLIST.md.

Published at the maintainer's explicit request. Original copyright and license notices are preserved. Component licensing remains unresolved; this release does not change those terms or establish compatible distribution rights.
