v0.7.0

Choose a tag to compare

@saif71 saif71 released this 03 Oct 06:27

[0.7.0] - 2026-10-03

Added

  • Tools sidebar with an interactive terminal running your default shell in the project directory.
  • Launch installed AI CLI tools: Codex, Claude Code, OpenCode, Pi, GitHub Copilot, Hermes, and Gemini CLI.
  • Installation links for missing AI tools and “Check again” to refresh detection.
  • Terminal resizing, session status, and process cleanup when sessions close.
  • Back-to-dashboard link in the file viewer.

Changed

  • Sidebar switches between the file browser and a wider Tools panel.

v0.6.4

Choose a tag to compare

@saif71 saif71 released this 25 Sep 10:31

Added

  • Visual assets gallery: a new /gallery page listing every image in the codebase, with name search plus folder and file-type filters, and a lightbox viewer for full-size preview.
  • "Recent images" dashboard widget surfacing the 20 most recently modified images, newest first (by git date when available).
  • MCP server inventory widget on the dashboard: read-only listing of servers configured in .mcp.json, .claude/settings.json, .cursor/mcp.json, .vscode/mcp.json, and .gemini/settings.json — showing each server's command or URL, env var names (values never exposed), and disabled state. Malformed configs just hide the widget instead of erroring.

Changed

  • The browser tab title now shows the root folder name — and the open file's path while one is being viewed — so multiple readingroom tabs are distinguishable.

v0.6.3

Choose a tag to compare

@saif71 saif71 released this 20 Sep 07:30

Added

  • Markdown table of contents and heading anchors: every rendered heading now gets a stable, GitHub-style id, so deep links like /view/docs/plan.md#decisions work — including links copied from GitHub.
  • Hover anchor button on headings that copies a link to that section to the clipboard.
  • New "Outline" tab in the Inspector showing the document's heading tree, with click-to-scroll and scroll-spy highlighting of the section currently in view.

v0.6.2

Choose a tag to compare

@saif71 saif71 released this 20 Sep 07:12

Added

  • Copy button on code blocks in the file viewer, with insecure-context (non-HTTPS) clipboard fallback so copying still works over plain HTTP LAN access.
  • Copy-file action to copy an entire file's contents to the clipboard.

Changed

  • Improved the viewer components to integrate the new clipboard and copy-file actions.

0.6.1

Choose a tag to compare

@saif71 saif71 released this 20 Sep 06:48
  • Sidebar tree expansion and category filter now persist across page reloads and SSE reconnects (issue #019). Stored expansions are pruned when folders disappear from the tree; the text filter query is deliberately not persisted.

v0.5.0

@saif71 saif71 released this 21 Aug 08:52

New dashboard for your project.

v0.4.0 — Take your docs anywhere

Choose a tag to compare

@saif71 saif71 released this 20 Aug 08:30

This release is about reading away from your desk: open your docs on your phone, grab a copy of any file, and a UI that behaves on small screens.

New

  • Read on your phone. Click the phone icon in the sidebar and choose how to connect:
    • Same Wi-Fi — scan a QR code and you're reading. Nothing leaves your network.
    • Any network — on mobile data or away from home? A private address via Cloudflare's tunnel service works from anywhere. The helper tool downloads automatically on first use — nothing to install, no account needed.
    • Both routes are locked with a one-time access code built into the QR link, so only you get in. The code changes every run, and sharing stops the moment the process is stopped. (how it works)
  • Download any file you're viewing. The button next to the file name saves exactly what's on screen — open an older version from the History panel and that's the version you get.

Improved

  • Phone-sized layout. The file tree and details panel collapse into slide-over drawers on small screens, so the reading experience holds up on mobile.
  • README overhaul — simpler instructions, screenshots, and a demo video.

As always: One npx readingroom is all you need.
