Library

• A list by default. The library opens as a list grouped by status: In progress, On hold, Planned, Completed, Dropped. The first two start open, and each group remembers whether it is open. The grid is one button away, and the choice is kept per device. Continue is one row that scrolls sideways, above the grid.
• Types can be hidden. The eye in Settings → Content → Types takes a type out of the filter, the add form, the statistics, the widget and search. Its notes stay in the vault. New installs start with shows, games, music and other hidden; an existing library keeps every type it had.
• Five statuses. On hold is new: it keeps its progress and dates but is not on Continue, has no "+1" and is never counted as gone quiet. Reading, Watched, Played and so on follow the type, and the built-in types speak the interface's language until you rename them.
• Favourites. A heart on every line, poster, card and in the add form, favorite: true in the note, and a toolbar button that shows only favourites.
• The add form asks for the type, the title and the status first. Progress appears for something under way, the score for something finished, and the rest is under More.
• Statistics start with four figures, show the statuses as one bar and add Finished by month for the last year. A finish counts only by its finished date, so an import no longer shows a whole library as finished today.

Series

The seasons, films and spin-offs of one thing are kept together through series: in each part's note.

• In the list, the parts of a series in one status group fold into one line; the arrow unfolds them. In the grid a series is one stacked poster with "×N".
• A series has its own page with how far through it is and every part in order. Edit renames it, reorders the parts by dragging, adds and removes parts, or ungroups it.
• Put items in a series from the add form, an item's card, the right-click menu, or several at once in select mode.
• Find series (the layers button, or the command palette) finds series nobody has named yet. A title that continues another one, such as "X 2", "X TV-2", "X: Film" or "X. Part 2", goes under it, and aliases count too. You review the list before anything is written.

Import

• Anixart bookmarks (CSV): the Russian name is the title, the original and alternative names become aliases, and statuses and favourites come across.
• A second import updates the library instead of adding everything again. It changes the status and the favourite mark of items it recognises by any of their names. A status that would go backwards starts unticked. Scores, progress and notes are never touched.
• Goodreads titles give up their "(Series, #1)" to the series, and an import offers to group what it brings into series.

Zenith 0.2.8

Editor: code blocks

A new module, on by default, for writing notes. It starts with code blocks, the same in reading view and Live Preview:

• A header with the language's icon and name, and a copy button that copies the code without its fences. Over 300 language words are known, and about 180 languages have an icon.
• A stripe in the language's colour, and line numbers.
• A title after the language shows in the header: ```html Page skeleton reads HTML - Page skeleton.
• Folding. The arrow in the header, or a click on it, folds a block down to the header. After the language, - starts a block folded and + open. In Live Preview the cursor steps over a folded block, and a search result inside it opens it.
• Code Styler's title:"…" and fold are read too. While Code Styler is on, Zenith leaves code blocks to it and says so in its settings.
• Settings → Zenith → Editor switches each part off and sets how blocks start: open, folded, or folded when longer than a number of lines.

Language names, colours and icons come from Code Styler (MIT), whose icons come from vscode-icons (MIT).

Updates

When Obsidian starts, Zenith checks whether a newer version is out and offers it. Update opens Zenith's page in Obsidian's own plugin browser. Zenith downloads nothing itself. The check reads Zenith's manifest.json from raw.githubusercontent.com, and Check for updates in the settings switches it off.

Sync

• A new sync dialog. It opens with the state on a coloured card: in sync, syncing, did not finish, some files did not move, or not set up. It also shows what the last run did, what the server holds, the automatic sync switch and the devices. More holds What would change (compare with the server before syncing), the two forced overwrites, and the sync settings.
• The last sync time and the last run's numbers are kept on each device, so the dialog no longer says "never" after a restart.
• The sync notice takes the theme's background instead of black, and a finished run shows what the synced files take up on the server.

Debug tools

A Code tab shows every kind of code block, each language with its icon, and the editor's switches.

Fixed

• Connecting Dropbox on a phone: Connect opens the browser again. The sign-in page also stays on screen as a link, in case the browser does not open by itself.
• Tasks on a phone: the header no longer stops a whole header's height too low while the list scrolls, covering the tasks under it.
• Settings sync with Zenith's own file sync: settings now reach the other devices. While settings sync is on, the file sync carries each device's settings, and they are applied as soon as they arrive. Changing a setting starts a file sync, and an edit made within a minute of the last sync goes out once that minute has passed, instead of at the next scheduled run.

After updating, let the file sync run once on every device, so each one sends its settings and picks up the others'.

Changed

• The weather cache is kept in Obsidian's own local storage, separately for each vault, instead of the browser's. The first forecast after updating is fetched afresh.
• Prayer times: the one-time move from the old month-by-month cache, from before 0.2.1, is gone. A device that skipped straight from such a version fetches its timetable once more.
• The build uses Node's own list of built-in modules instead of the builtin-modules package.

Nothing else changes in how Zenith works.

Zenith 0.2.5

Zenith 0.2.5: a build of main at 772df08. It gets Zenith ready for Obsidian's community plugin directory.

Removed: third-party modules

Zenith now runs only its own code. Modules installed into .obsidian/plugins/zenith/modules/, including the due-badges and focus-timer samples, no longer load. That folder can be deleted. Along with them go the module installer, safe mode, module permissions and the places modules could draw inside Zenith's views. Every built-in module works as before, and switching modules on and off in settings is unchanged.

Changed

• Deleting from the library asks in Zenith's own dialog instead of the system one.
• Quick add understands dates, times and repeats on older iPhones too (iOS before 16.4).
• File sync respects a config folder renamed from .obsidian.
• The accent colour picked in settings also colours Zenith's settings pages.
• A tracker value of only spaces in a daily note counts as empty, like an empty one, instead of as 0.

Network use

The README now lists every service Zenith contacts and why: Open-Meteo for weather and place search, BigDataCloud to name a location from the device, ipapi.co only if you switch IP lookup on, Aladhan for published prayer times, and the sync service you connect. There is no account, no telemetry and no server of Zenith's own.

New

• Side panel. A tab with a compass in the right sidebar. On top are buttons for commands: New task, Search, Mark prayer and Sync notes to begin with. Any command Obsidian has can be a button, Zenith's, Obsidian's own or another plugin's. Under the buttons is every Zenith view, with the one you are in marked. Zenith puts the panel in the sidebar once; if you close it, Zenith: Open the side panel brings it back.
• Arranging it. The pencil at the top turns both lists into rows. Drag a row by its handle, or move it with ↑ ↓. Rename a button, click its icon to pick another, add a command, remove one. The eye hides a view. The order and the hidden views are shared with the dashboard's Navigation card, and they travel to your other devices with sync.
• Short names. Zenith's commands go by a word or two on a button (New task rather than Quick add task). The palette and Search keep the full names.
• A command that works on the current note runs on the note you were in, not on the panel. On a phone the drawer closes after a tap.

New

• Search. One line to reach anything in Zenith: its views and commands, open tasks, projects, library items, and a day's note by its date. It matches in English and in Russian, and on either keyboard layout: ынтс finds sync. A line that finds nothing becomes a task, read as in quick add. A line starting with project, journal or a content type (book, фильм…) makes that instead. Open it with the command Zenith: Search, or on a phone with the magnifier in Obsidian's menu. No hotkey is set to begin with; set one in Settings → Zenith → Search. Search is switched on in existing vaults too.
• Timetable as JSON. Settings → Zenith → Study → Edit as JSON, or the command Edit the timetable as JSON, opens the whole timetable as text. It saves without asking, but not while any line would be skipped, so a typo can't quietly drop a class.

• registerSearchSource adds a module's own rows to Search. See Search in docs/en/module-api.md.

Fixed

• Sync notice on a phone. On a phone, Obsidian stretches a notice across the screen. The sync progress notice used to fill only two thirds of it: the bar stopped short, and the file count sat next to the title. It now uses the full width, with the count at the right end. The notice for a held sync run is fixed the same way.

Everything from 0.2.1 for phones is included: screen edges, views scrolling under Obsidian's header as notes do, hiding on scroll, and narrower sides.

On a phone

• Screen edges. Zenith's views no longer slip under the camera and status bar or under Obsidian's bottom buttons. Zenith measures what actually covers each view: the safe-area insets, Obsidian's header and its navbar. A view that Obsidian already keeps clear is left as it was.
• Like a note. Views now start at the top of the screen, under Obsidian's floating header. They open clear of it, and whatever you scroll goes on under the header and around the buttons, with the same fade at the top that a note has. The black band under the header is gone.
• Hiding on scroll. Scrolling a Zenith view now hides Obsidian's header and buttons the way scrolling a note does, and they come back when you scroll up. This follows Obsidian's own Full screen setting.
• Settings page. Zenith's settings now start below the back and close buttons that Obsidian floats over them. Under a Dynamic Island, those buttons used to cover the first rows.
• Narrower sides. Views on a phone have 12px sides instead of 16–24px.
• By hand. Settings → Appearance → Phone → Screen edges shows what was measured. If a phone needs it, you can set both bands yourself. Hand-set values apply in portrait, on that device only.

Also

• In the Classes card, the Then line names every room of a class that two subgroups share.

New in this build

• Study, a new module for your class timetable:
  • A Classes card for the dashboard shows what is on now or next, in which room, and how long until it starts or ends. It also draws the day as one strip, and at the largest size, the week.
  • A Study view shows today first, then the week. In a wide pane the week is a grid; in a narrow pane or on a phone it is a list of days, with the bell times under it.
  • Timetables:
    • two-week cycles, with the weeks named 1st/2nd, numerator/denominator or odd/even;
    • subgroups and term dates.
  • Three ways to get your timetable in:
    • paste it as JSON;
    • copy a prompt for any AI chat, which turns a photo or text of your timetable into that JSON;
    • edit it by hand, bells included.
  • Task for the next class adds a task tagged #study, due on the day the subject is taught next. Class reminders are also available, off by default.
• Calendar: the week and day grids show your classes faintly behind the tasks, so you can plan around them. Turn this off under Calendar → Classes on the hour grid.
• Tabs: every view's tab now shows just the module's name in English: Dashboard, Projects, Content, Study.
• Debug tools → Study: see the Study card and view at any date and time. Only Study's clock moves; reminders and the rest of Obsidian keep the real time.

Upgrading from 0.1.0

• Study is off until you switch it on in Settings → Active Modules.
• The dashboard's tab is now Dashboard; it used to be Zenith Dashboard.

Demo vault

zenith-demo-vault-0.2.0.zip is a vault that shows every feature, with this build already installed. It now includes an evening master's timetable:
