We are thrilled to announce the first official release of InpToMac (v1.0.0)! 🎉

InpToMac is a blazing-fast, lightweight macOS menu bar utility that allows you to seamlessly receive text from mobile devices over your local network and instantly inject it into the currently focused macOS window.

✨ What's New in v1.0.0

  • Direct Text Injection: Uses macOS Accessibility APIs to type text instantly without leaving any trace in your clipboard history.
  • Smart Clipboard Fallback: Automatically switches to a hyper-fast "copy-paste-restore" method for apps that block direct injection (like VS Code), ensuring your clipboard remains clean.
  • Zero-Config Discovery: Built-in Bonjour (NetService) support. Mobile apps can automatically discover the Mac server on the local network.
  • Built-in Security: A programmatic Preferences window to set a PIN/Password, so only authorized users can push text to your Mac.
  • Menu Bar Native: Lives quietly in the menu bar with a beautifully integrated SF Symbol icon (waveform.and.mic). No dock icon!
  • Quick QR Connect: Click the menu bar icon to reveal a dynamically generated QR code for instant pairing via mobile browser.
  • Launch at Login: Native integration with SMAppService to automatically start the server when you boot up your Mac.
