Vanta Launcher v1.1
Vanta Launcher v1.1 Release! 馃殌
This update focuses on stability, directory isolation, cross-platform compatibility, and resolving initial launch issues.
Features & Improvements
- Dedicated Data Directory (
.Vanta): Log files, world saves, screenshots, and game configurations are now stored in an isolated, custom.Vantadirectory (AppData/Roaming/.Vantaon Windows or~/.Vantaon Linux) [1.2.3]. Large vanilla assets and libraries are still shared with.minecraftto prevent any redundant downloads. - Portable Java Auto-Installer: The launcher now automatically detects if a system-wide Java environment is missing. If needed, it prompts to download and configure Mojang's official, portable Java runtime (Java 8) locally inside the game directory鈥攔equiring no administrator privileges.
- Cross-Platform Support: Added logic to ensure full compatibility with Linux. Windows-specific calls are now safely isolated, allowing the launcher to run smoothly on both operating systems.
- Taskbar Icon Rendering: Addressed the Windows taskbar icon issue. By explicitly registering a unique process
AppUserModelID, the correct launcher icon is now rendered consistently on the taskbar. - Resilient Offline Mode & Fallbacks: Improved handling of offline states and Mojang API downtime. The launcher now gracefully falls back to local assets, and defensive checks prevent crashes if resource files (like icons) are temporarily missing.
Bug Fixes
- Launcher Directory Cluttering Fixed: Patched the behavior where a
logs/folder was generated in the same directory asVanta.exe[1.1.1]. The game's working directory is now correctly scoped to the active profile's folder [1.1.1, 1.2.3]. - Play Button Guard Clauses: Patched the v1.0 issue where clicking "Play" during initialization could trigger internal method errors. Active controls are now securely guarded until the version list has finished loading.
- Corrected path-normalization for UI stylesheet elements on Windows to avoid backslash rendering conflicts.
